Work with the Portal Query Explorer
The Portal Query Explorer displays the query reports you have configured for your Eagle Portal users. The Portal Query Explorer allows you to add, edit, and delete query reports, determine the order of menu categories, and assign them to users, business groups, or everyone. You can use Migration Wizard to migrate these query reports from one environment into another.
To access the Portal Query Explorer:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.
Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
You see the Portal Administration window.Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.Complete the options on the Portal Query Explorer window as described in the following table:
Option | Description |
Add Query | Allows you to add a query report. |
Copy Query | Allows you to copy the existing query and save it using a different query name. |
View Query | Allows you to view details of the query. |
Edit Query | Allows you to edit a query report. |
Delete Query | Allows you to delete a query report. |
Menu Order | Specifies the menu and menu items order for query reports displaying in Portal. |
Migration | You can migrate portal query reports, query views, dashboard parts, and dashboard views from one environment into another. |
Copy a Query
You can copy the configurations defined for an existing query into a new query. After copying the query, you can modify any fields in the query.
To copy and modify a query:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.
Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
You see the Portal Administration window.Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.Click to select the query report you want to copy.
Click Copy Query.
You see the Copy Query dialog box.Click the ellipsis (...).
You see the Available Portal Query Names dialog box.Select a name from the list to display in the Copy As field on the Copy Query dialog box. To use a different name, click Add Report, and enter a new report name on the Add New Portal Query Name dialog box. The dialog box contains the following fields:
Short Description. Do not use any spaces when entering a short description.
Long Description. Enter a descriptive report name. This is the name your users see displayed on the Portal menu.Click OK to save your changes.
Edit a Query Report
To edit a query report:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.
Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
You see the Portal Administration window.Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.Click to select the query report you want to edit.
Click Edit Query.
You see the Query Settings dialog box.Modify the fields on the Query Settings dialog box.
To define date rules, in the Date Rules row, click the ellipsis to display the Portal Date Rules Selector dialog box, select one or more date rules, and click OK.
Once date rules are defined for a query report, you can run that report using the date rules.Click Next.
You see the Assign Queries dialog box.Click Finish.
You have edited the query and your changes are saved.
Configure a Composite Enumeration Level
You can configure the Composite Enumeration list in the Query Settings dialog box. This list is available when you select the following report types from the Type drop down menu:
Access Positions
Access Trades
Access Cash Activity
To configure composite enumeration:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.
Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
You see the Portal Administration window.Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.Click to select the query report you want to edit.
Click Edit Query.
You see the Query Settings dialog box.In the Composite Enumeration row, click the drop down arrow and select the appropriate option.
Select a report type. The report type that you select determines whether you can enumerate at the composite or constituent level.
Click Next.
You see the Assign Queries dialog box.Click Finish.
You have edited the query and your changes are saved.
Delete a Query Report
To delete a query report:
From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.
Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
You see the Portal Administration window.Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.Click to select the query report you want to delete.
Click Delete Query.
The query report is deleted and is no longer displayed in the Portal Query Explorer window.
