Manage Date Rules

In the Eagle Portal’s Submit Report dialog box under Period, you can select date rules to view reports for a specified period, such as today, yesterday, this week, this month, and prior month. The logic for these date rules is managed in Eagle’s General Reporting module

You can add, edit, remove, and change the order of the date rules displayed in the Submit Report dialog box in the User Settings Explorer.

Add a Date Rule

To add a date rule:

  1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.

  2. Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.

  3. Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
    You see the Portal Administration window.

  4. Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
    You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.

  5. Click the Portal Query Explorer drop down menu and select User Settings Explorer.
    You see the User Settings Explorer window. Settings are applied to the user identified in the Current User link. By default, Default User is selected.

  6. If you want to set up date rules for specific users or business groups, click Current User and use the Select User/Group dialog box.

  7. Under Portal User Settings, click Date Rules.

  8. Click Add.
    You see the Date Rules Settings dialog box. This dialog box controls the date rules that are available for selection.

  9. In the Date Rule name row, click the ellipsis.
    You see the Select a Date Rule dialog box.
    The logic for date rules is set up using the reporting menu options in the General Reporting module.

  10. Select a reporting date rule and click OK.
    You see the Date Rules Settings dialog box.

  11. In the Available to row, select the following:
    Portal Inbox if you want the date rule to pertain to reports delivered into Inbox.
    Portal Resubmit if you want date rule to pertain to reports that your users can resubmit in the Eagle Portal.
    All if you want date rule to pertain to both Inbox and reports that your users resubmit.

  12. Click OK.

Maintain Date Rules

To edit, rearrange, or delete date rules, you can use the User Settings Explorer window.

To maintain date rules:

  1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.

  2. Enter Portal Administration in the Start Search text box.

  3. Click the Portal Administration (Reporting Center) link to access Portal Administration.
    You see the Portal Administration window.

  4. Click Yes in the Do you see the Eagle logo here? dialog box.
    You see the Portal Query Explorer window as the default.

  5. Click the Portal Query Explorer drop down menu and select User Settings Explorer.

  6. Under Portal User Settings, click Date Rules.

  7. Click to select a date rule and click Edit.

  8. Change a currently assigned user or a reporting date rule and click OK.

  9. To change the order in which the date rules are displayed in the Submit Report dialog box, click to select a date rule, click Move Up or Move Down, and click OK.

  10. To remove a date rule, click to select a date rule, click Remove, and click OK.
    The value is removed from the Period option in the Submit Report dialog box.
