The Design window is the second dialog box that appears when you are creating dashboard parts. Complete the following options when designing a dashboard part.

Calculation Options

Calculation options for a numeric field include:

  • Average

  • Harmonic Mean

  • Sum

  • Weighted Average

  • Calculation options for a text field include:

  • Rollup of the text value

Filter

Allows you to filter the data returned for a part.

Dates

Determines the date or date range for which to retrieve data for the part. For example, if a part defined a gain or loss summary for the period of one year, you would use a year for the date rule. If the part was holdings related, you would typically use a current date rule.
