View Cost, Cash, and Income Positions

The Position Viewer workspace displays cost, cash, and income position data for the security selected. After you access the Position Viewer tool and specify your search type and search criteria, you can view position results. 

To review Cost, Cash, and Income positions:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Reports > Position Viewer.
    You see the Position Viewer workspace. The Search Type option has a value of One Portfolio by default.

  2. Complete the search criteria. You can search by:
    - All Portfolios
    - One Portfolio
    - One Portfolio and One Security 
    - One Custodian Bank
    - All Custodial Banks and One Security

  3. In the Position Viewer workspace grid, review the the list of positions that met your search criteria.

  4. Click the row of the position you want to research.
    The Reports pane displays tabs where you can view data related to the selected position selected based on activity type.

  5. In the Reports list, select the type of information you want to view for the selected position.Options include:
    - Cost. Default. The Cost object provides cost accounting information.
    - Cash Position - Asset Currency.  The Cash object describes cash activity from both a traded and a settled perspective. 
    - Income. The Income object displays income activity, including amortization.
    You see the tabs that apply to the type of report you selected. 

  6. If you cannot see all the tabs at once, you can:
    - Click the down arrow at the left of the tabs to show a list of available tabs, and select the tab you want to view.
    - Click the left/right arrows at the right of the tabs to move forward or backwards through the tabs, and select the tab you want to view. 

  7. View the detailed cost, cash, or income information for the position.
