Select Schedule Options

In the Schedule workspace, when you create or edit schedules, you can select various schedule options based on the requirements of your business.

Schedule Define Options

The following are the options in the schedule's Define dialog box:

  • Event Name. Displays the event name that you selected to schedule. This option cannot be edited in the Schedule workspace.

  • Schedule Name. Allows you to enter the new schedule name.

  • Schedule Group. Allows you to select a schedule group for the schedule, or create a new group. Schedule groups are created to help organize schedules and to allow monitoring by the selected schedule group. The default is None.

  • Log Level. Allows you to select the log level for the schedule.

  • Priority. Allows you to change the priority for the schedule. The default is Normal however, You can have schedules skip to the front of the queue if the priority is set to High.

  • Capacity Group. Allows you to select a capacity group for the schedule. The ability to dedicate system resources to groups whether is it geographic such as US and Europe or divisional like accounting and performance. Capacity Groups defined under Setup. Capacity Group availability is determined based on the system parameter setting 165.

  • Enable schedule to run. Allows you to enable the schedule. The default is not to Enable the schedule (unchecked).

Schedule Time Options

The following are the options in the schedule's Time dialog box:

  • Recurrence Pattern. Allows you to specify when and how often the schedule will run. The default is All Days. This option also allows you to select specific dates for the schedule to run and to select a business calendar.
    To change the calendar, click Manage Business Calendar. In the drop-down list you can select from the available calendars and view their corresponding descriptions to ensure that you select the correct option.

  • Time. Allows you to select the following:

    • Run Window for the schedule within the 24-hour period. Note that you can select the Start and Stop times to indicate a time interval during which the schedule can start and attempt to run until the specified stop time.

    • Start Threshold for the schedule so that you can receive notifications if the schedule does not start by the specified time. To activate this option, you must enable the Exceeded Start Threshold option.

    • Stop Threshold for the schedule so that you can receive notifications if the schedule does not finish by the specified time. To activate this option, you must enable the Exceeded Stop Threshold option.

    • Duration for the schedule so that you can receive notifications if the schedule takes longer to complete than the specified time. To activate this option, you must enable the Exceeded Duration Threshold option.

    • Run Continuously for the schedule where you can specify the schedule to run multiple times per day from a specific time. The schedule can run on specified time intervals within the defined window of time.

    • Allow concurrent runs for the schedule where you specify the schedule to run before the previous run of the schedule has completed.

    • Advanced Options where you can change the Default Time Zone and the Start of Day options.

  • Recurrence Range. Allows you to select the following:

    • Start Date for the schedule where you can change the schedule start date. The default is today's date.

    • End by Date for the schedule where you can change the schedule stop date. The default is No End Date.

Schedule Dependency Options

The following are the options in the schedule Dependency dialog box:

  • Event Type. Allows you to select the event type of the dependency.

  • Schedule Name. Allows you to select the name of the dependency schedule.

  • Add Dependency. Allows you to add a dependency for the schedule.

  • Dependency Condition. Allows you to select a condition for the dependency. Available options include:

    • Failed

    • Succeeded (Default)

    • Succeeded or Failed

  • Wait Time. Allows you to specify the number of minutes after the schedule started after which the dependency may be ignored.

  • Delete. Allows you to remove the schedule dependency.

Schedule Notifications Options

The Enable option in the Notifications dialog box allows you to manage notifications by assigning e-mail addresses and file names for notification distribution for the following schedule statuses:

  • Succeeded. Allows you to configure notifications for when the schedule completes successfully.

  • Failed. Allows you to configure notifications for when the schedule fails.

  • Reached Wait Time. Allows you to configure notifications for when the schedule reaches the specified wait time.

  • Did Not Run. Allows you to configure notifications for when the schedule did not run at all.

  • Exceeded Start Threshold. Allows you to configure notifications if the schedule did not start by the specified time.

  • Exceeded Stop Threshold. Allows you to configure notifications if the schedule did not finish by the specified time.

  • Exceeded Duration Threshold. Allows you to configure notifications if the schedule takes longer to complete than the specified time.
