Edit Security Positions

You can edit security positions used to calculate returns.

If an Application Server error occurs during position data maintenance, the error is displayed in the PACE windows. You do not need to consult the Application Server log to view this information.

To edit a security position:

  1. Open the Performance Calculations report and expand it to the security level.

  2. Select the security that you want to edit.

  3. Choose the Maintain data icon and select the Edit Security Position option.
The original position loaded in from the accounting source is not changed. When changes are made to the position, then a new position is created with a source of 4 – Eagle PACE.
If you select the Edit option, a record appears that is similar to the one shown in the following figure. Note that the source is populated. This is the source that is stored in the Catalog tab in the report. If a source does not exist in the catalog tab for this field, an error appears.

  4. Select the appropriate source.
The source is the original accounting source if the data has not been previously edited. Typically, the source is Eagle PACE if the data has been edited.

  5. Change the fields that you want to change and click Save.
At this point the Save function has stored this altered information in a temporary table. The data has not yet been added to the position tables.

  6. After editing the position, select the Save Position Securities option from the Data Maintenance icon.
A dialog box appears displaying edits that were made. See the following figure.

    Save Edited Position Securities Dialog

In this dialog box, the options are:
Save All. Sends all records in the dialog to the database.
Save. Sends the highlighted changes to the database only.
Edit. Enables you to change the selected record.
    Delete. Erases the selected record.
    Close. Closes the dialog box.

  7. You can rerun the report to view the changes. Make the first source in the position source in the Source Rule hierarchy Eagle PACE.
This step ensures the changes are used in the performance calculations.
