Manage Equity Securities in Issue Viewer
In the Equity/Mutual Fund panel, you can manually add and change an equity security. Equity is ownership interest in a corporation in the form of common stock or preferred stock. You can add the following types of equity securities using the Equity/Mutual Fund panel:
Common stock
Preferred stock
Preferred PIK (payment in kind)
You can also add redeemable preferred stock. For details, see Understand Redeemable Preferred Stock.
This article assumes you are familiar with the entity elections made for processing equity securities.
Add Equity Securities
To manually add an equity security:
In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Securities > Manage Securities > Issue Viewer.
You see the Issue Viewer tool.Click the Add arrow.
Point to Equities and click Equity/Mutual Fund.
You see the Equity/Mutual Fund panel.Complete the options on the Equity/Mutual Fund panel.
The following fields are required to set up an equity security: Issue Name, Primary Asset ID Type, Primary Asset ID, Processing Security Type, Issue Country Code, Asset Currency, Settlement Currency, Income Currency, Primary Exchange Code, and Maturity Price.Click Submit.
Change Equity Securities
Some fields are locked when there is an existing position on the security. This is because a change would impact the existing position. These fields include Asset Currency, Investment Type, Processing Security Type, Quantity Type, Price Multiplier, and Quantity Scale. Other fields are locked so they cannot be changed. See the About Locked Security Master Record Fields in Issue Viewer page for more information.
If you need to change a security master record, Eagle recommends canceling the security, making changes to the security master record, and rebooking the security.
To manually change an equity security:
In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Securities > Manage Securities > Issue Viewer.
You see the Issue Viewer tool.Enter the query parameters and click Search.
You see a list of security records that meet your selection criteria in the Query Result window.Select the security record you want to update, click the Change arrow, and then click Change/Equity/Mutual Fund/Cost Method. Or double-click the security record.
You see the Change Equity/Mutual Fund/Cost Method panel.Change the options on the Change Equity/Mutual Fund/Cost Method panel.
Click Submit.

Quantity Type | 12 | Displays the quantity generally accepted as a standard for exchange, such as Shares. For a Joint Venture/Limited Liability/Partnership security, options include Shares, Units, or Percentage. |
Price Multiplier | 18 | Determines what the system uses for a price. In the case of an equity security, the system defaults to a price of 1.00. You should not change this value once a position exists. |
Quantity Scale | 19 | Calculates the ratio of units bought to units used for earnings. The default is 1, so that 1 unit of par purchased equals one unit of earnings. You should not change this value once a position exists. |
Country of Risk | 2288 | Specifies the issuer of the security's principal place of business. |

NOTE:Â Â Dividends from PFICs, foreign personal holding companies, and foreign investment companies are not QDI eligible. To manually exclude PFICs from QDI eligibility, use the Create Security Processing Rule panel to add a security processing rule. Once you add the rule, use the Edit Security Processing Rule panel to set the PFIC Flag field (tag 2906) to Yes. You can then update the security master file record by setting the PFIC Flag field (tag 2906) to Yes and applying the security processing rule by selecting a value from the Security Processing Rule ID field (tag 2964). Next, use the Create Basis Processing Rule panel to add a basis processing rule. You can add different processing rules with different securities in the event that all security PFIC rules do not apply to all entities. Once you add the rule, use the Edit Basis Processing Rule panel to add additional securities. Finally, add the Basis Processing Rule ID field (tag 2965) at the entity level. |
