Query MSGCENTER Position Work Tables
You can use the Position Recon console to view the position match results. You can also directly query the MSGCENTER work tables to view the source data loaded to work tables from Eagle PACE, Eagle STAR, and custodian information.
You must set DataSetOption=1 to view work table queries for the MSGCENTER database.
Query Position Results
You can query match results stored to the POSITIONS_RESULTS and RECON_COMMENTS tables in the MSGCENTER database using Eagle STAR panels.
To query position results on MSGCENTER work tables for a given position date:
From the Position Recon console, click Positions Results Data in the left pane.
Click the Query Positions Results Data tab.
You see the Query Positions Results Data panel.Complete the options on the Query Positions Results Data panel.
Click Submit.

The following are the key options on the Query Positions Results Data panel.
Option | Description |
---|---|
Position Date | Specifies the position effective date for positions results. |
Entity Name | Specifies the entity name. Resolves to an entity id used for query qualification. |
Entity ID | Specifies the Entity ID. You can query by composite entity ID to view the rollup of all entities in the composite. |
Entity Active Status | Specifies the entity status. Options include Active and Both (Default). |
Issue Name | Specifies the Issue Name. |
Primary Asset ID | Specifies the primary asset ID of the security. |
Entity List ID | Specifies the Entity List with entity IDs for query qualification. |
Status | Specifies the position match statuses to filter results.

Assigned User | Specifies the LAN id of the person assigned by the supervisor to research the position break. |
Position Category | Specifies the category assigned by the business team to the position break. |
Post Date | Specifies the date the results were posted to the work tables. |
Long Short | Indicates whether a Long (Default) or Short position is used to qualify filter results. Eagle STAR cash balances display as Long positions. |
Table Option | Specifies the DataSetOption configuration setting for Position Recon environment.

Max Items | Specifies the maximum number of result records that are returned for viewing. Default is 100 records. NOTE: You can build custom reports based on this panel and build custom message streams to create files for external systems or distribute report results to the organization. The panel name is pan-qry_positions_results_event for event QRY_POSITIONS_RESULTS_EVENT. |
Query Positions
The Positions report displays work records from the POSITIONS and POSITIONS_EXT work tables of the MSGCENTER database.
To submit the Positions query for the MSGCENTER work tables:
From the Position Recon console, click Query Positions in the left pane.
Click the Query Positions tab.
You see the Query Positions panel.Complete the options on the Query Positions panel.
Click Submit.

You can optionally qualify report results by post date, source, entity list ID, primary asset id, assets type, and long/short indicator.
Query Custody Positions
The Custody Positions query displays work records from the POSITIONS_CUST and POSITIONS_CUST_EXT work tables of the MSGCENTER database.
To submit the Custody Positions query for the MSGCENTER work tables:
From the Position Recon console, click Custody Positions in the left pane and then click the Query Custody Positions tab in the right pane.
You see the Query Custody Positions panel.Complete the options on the Query Custody Positions panel.
Click Submit.
You see the Custody Position query results.
