About the SCF Sub-Period Engine

The SCF Sub-Period engine supports fund-by-fund SCF processing. This engine, named Performance Calc-SCF, can be used in two ways:

  • Set the Performance Calculation engine limit ratio to a number less than one. This allows the Performance CalcSCF engine to have a few concurrent engines.

  • Set up multiple instances of the PACE engine and dedicate a slave instance to running Performance Calc-SCF engines only. This allows all concurrent engines on one PACE engine to run SCF sub-periods.

The Performance Calc-SCF engine cannot be submitted directly, but is instead always submitted by the SCF monthly Performance Returns report. This means that you do not see any new report types or options related to this engine.

This engine has the short description PERFCALC_SCF and is available from the PACE engine windows. The Cluster Manager allows the configuration of the SCF sub-period engine.

The Performance Calc-SCF engine is enabled on all PACE engines after installation. If you have any PACE engines dedicated to Advanced Reporting, you need to disable the new Performance Calc-SCF engine on those servers after upgrading.
