Manage Table Unique IDs

You can use the Table Unique IDs workspace to create, edit and delete unique IDs.

Create a New Unique ID

You can add unique IDs for the Unique ID workspace.

To create a unique ID

  1. In the Setup workspace, in the left navigation, click Unique ID.
    You see the Table Unique ID workspace with the current list of unique IDs.
  2. Click Create New.
    You see the Create New Unique ID dialog box.
  3. Enter the Full Table Name in the space provided. This should also include the schema/database name.

  4. Enter the Column Name.
  5. Under Unique ID Method, select one of the following:
    –  Use_Value from NEXT_INSTANCE table to generate Unique ID.
    –  Use DB sequence object to generate Unique ID.
  6. Click Save.
    The Unique ID is added to the list of unique table IDs.

Edit Unique IDs

You can edit unique IDs from the Unique ID workspace.

To edit a unique ID:

  1. In the Setup workspace, in the left navigation, click Unique ID.
    You see the Table Unique ID workspace with the current list of unique IDs.
  2. Select the unique ID you wish to edit, and then click Edit.
    You see the Edit dialog box.
  3. Review the information, make the appropriate changes, and then click Save.

Delete Unique IDs

You can delete unique IDs from the Unique ID workspace.

To delete a unique ID:

  1. In the Setup workspace, in the left navigation, click Events.
    You see the Table Unique ID workspace with the current list of unique IDs.
  2. Select the unique ID you want to delete and then click Delete.
     You see a warning message asking you to verify your action.
  3. Click Yes.
    The unique ID is deleted from the system.
