Download Execution Log Files

You can download the log files of the engines that ran at each of the three levels of a Data Mart submission.

Your log files have a .log extension. If you have not associated such file types with any text processor, you receive an error message when you try to open a log file. If your PACE Server is UNIX, you should associate .log files with Wordpad. If the server is Windows, you can associate the files with either Wordpad or Notepad.

Data Mart Manager Engine Log

You can download the engine log file from the Execution History tab.

To download an engine log file:

  1. On the Execution History tab, select the log file you want to download and scroll to the far right of the row.
An example link to a log file of size 3.3 KB is shown in the following figure.

Click the Log Size (x KB) link corresponding to the log file you want to download.

  2. You see the log file open in a new WordPad window.
The following figure shows an example of a Data Mart Manager Engine log file.

You can see a list of all submitted models.

  2. Scroll to the far right for any model of interest and click the Log Size link under the Log column.
You see the Model Manager log open in WordPad.

OLAP Report Process Log

To download an OLAP report process (Concentration Engine) log:

  1. On the Execution History tab, drill into the report level of a model.
The following figure shows an example log file of size 58.1 KB.

  2. Scroll to the Report Log column and click the Log Size (x KB) link for the OLAP process entry that you want to download.
You see the log file open in a new WordPad window.

  3. Optionally, save the file and close the WordPad window.

OLAP Process Results

If an OLAP process for a model Submit process was successful, you can view the data it built in the ERX Viewer.

You must have the ERX Viewer installed on your PC to view OLAP results. It is available on the installation disk of your Eagle software. The folder is EAGLE_APPLICATIONS/MODULES/PACE/VIEWER/ERX_VIEWER.

To view OLAP results:

  1. On the Execution History tab, drill down twice to the OLAP level.

  2. Scroll to the Report Result column and click the Report Result (x KB) link for the OLAP report entry that you want to download. Example links are shown in the previous figure.
NOTE: OLAP results in the ERX file show data before it is loaded to the Data Mart tables. If there is an error encountered in the final step of loading the tables, the ERX can be a useful diagnostic tool for finding invalid data that might have led to the load failure.

  3. The results file opens in the ERX Viewer. Optionally, save the file, and close the report.

The ERX Viewer supports multilingual characters in OLAP results.
