Trade Activity Report

The Trade Activity report displays trade activity for a given entity and date range. The report shows the purchase and sale transactions, including currency transactions, forwards, and spot contracts. The report does not show corporate actions that change a position quantity.

Grid and advanced report views available for this report include:

  • Trade Activity Summary. This view displays base and local and base trade summary information.

  • Trade Activity Detail 1, 2, 3. These views display security details with additional base and local trade details.

  • Trade Activity Gain/Loss. This view displays base and local realized gains and losses.

  • Private Equity. The view displays base and local private equity costs and commitments.

To create the Trade Activity report:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Reports > Investment Accounting Reports > Trade > Trade Activity Report. 
    You see the Trade Activity Report panel.

  2. Complete the options on the Trade Activity Report panel.

  3. Under Result Options, click Grid or Advanced Report for the report view you want.

  4. Click Submit.
    The report results appear on your desktop for the view selected.

Search Criteria

 

Entity ID

Specifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by the entity ID of the entity.

Entity Name

Specifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by name of the entity.

Accounting Basis

Specifies the entity accounting basis. For example, USTAX, GAAP, or IFRS.

Report Type

Specifies the date controlling your report results. Options include:

  • Accounting Date (Default)

  • Month End Date

  • Post Date

  • Settlement Date

  • Trade Date

Report Period

Specifies the time period, date range, or particular date for your report. The time period may be entity specific or security specific, such as fiscal year. Options include:

  • Daily Activity (Default)

  • Date Range

  • Fiscal Year to Date

  • Life to Date

  • Calendar Year to Date

  • Inception to Date

  • Month to Date

Report Start Date

Specifies the start date for your report results. The default is the first day of the current month. To use this option, you must select Date Range as your report period.

Report End Date

Specifies the ending date for your report results. The default is today's date.

Include/Exclude Cancels

Allows you to display or suppress any cancel activity as well as its target original activity. Options include:

  • Include. The report displays all original as well as cancel activities booked within the reporting period, irrespective of whether both original and cancel activities are in same reporting period.

  • Exclude (Default). The report allows you to suppress any activity that is originally booked and cancelled within the reporting period while displaying any original or cancel activity that is booked within the reporting period.

Filter Same Period Cancels

If you include cancels in the report, this option allows you to suppress activity originally booked and cancelled within the reporting period. This option appears if you set Include/Exclude Cancels to Include. Options include:

  • Yes. The report suppresses any activity that is booked and cancelled within the reporting period.

  • No (Default). The report displays all activities booked within the reporting period.

Include/Exclude Complex Corporate Actions

Allows you to include complex corporate actions. The default is Exclude.

Include/Exclude Spot Trades

Allows you to include spot transactions. The default is Exclude.

Syncsend Engine Router

(Hidden) Indicates whether the system uses the Accounting engine or a report service to process the report results. Options include:

  • RPT. Default. If you enable use of report services, the system processes the panel using the related report service. Report services offer improved report performance. Otherwise, if you do not enable use of report services, the system processes the panel using the Accounting engine.

  • Null value or a value other than RPT. The system processes the panel using the Accounting engine.

Selection Criteria

 

Report Filters

Allows you to show/hide additional security and ledger account filters. The default is No.

Advanced Report Options

Allows you to show/hide advanced report detail tab selection, group, sort, and format options. The default is No.

Filter Security By

Allows you to show/hide additional report filters. Options include:

  • Security Cross Reference (Default). If you select this option the panel unhides the Xref Type and Xref Security ID fields for data entry.

  • Issue Name. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Issue Name field for data entry.

  • Primary Asset ID. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Primary Asset ID field for data entry.

Other Filters

Allows you to filter report results. Options include:

  • TBA Disaggregated Trade Switch

  • Asset Currency

  • Long Short

  • Event Type

  • Transaction Type

  • Investment Type

  • Security Type

  • Processing Security Type

User Provided Filters

Allows you to filter report results. Options include:

  • User Defined Float3

  • Original Trade Ticket Number

  • Update Source

Detail Tab Selection

Allows you to select additional views for your report results. Options include:

  • Summary (Default is Yes)

  • Detail 1 (Default is No)

  • Detail 2 (Default is No)

  • Detail 3 (Default is No)

  • Gain/Loss (Default is No)

Include/Exclude Totals

Indicates whether to include or exclude totals in the report. Options include:

  • Include

  • Exclude
