About Ledger Granularity

Ledger granularity provides additional granularity for Eagle's core and custom ledgers so that you can report on ledger activity at a more detailed level. Two stages of ledger granularity are available. Holding term granularity, built into the STAR core ledger posting process, breaks out accounts by holding term classifications of long term, short term, or cash equivalent. Custom granularity, based on the custom chart of account that you map to STAR's core accounts, breaks out accounts based on securities or certain security master attributes.

When you use ledger granularity, you can:

  • Use holding term granularity and/or custom granularity
  • Set up securities for ledger granularity
  • Create and maintain ledger granularity rules and rule details
  • Create and maintain granularity pools and attribute groupings
  • Create and maintain processing security type (PST) rules
  • Create and maintain security groupings
  • Set up entities for ledger granularity
  • Convert data for ledger granularity
  • Manage holding term information for transactions
  • Perform a custom granularity reload to update ledger accounts on an ongoing basis
  • Report on ledger granularity
