Manage Pricing Sources
Using Eagle STAR's Best Pricing module allows for the creation of a pricing hierarchy. When you establish this hierarchy, the actual pricing source for a security is maintained while Eagle's Best Pricing engines determine a "Best Price" for each security, for a target "Best Pricing Source."
During the Insurance Refresh process, the target price that is used in valuing each security is determined by the client's NAIC Price Source, as established on the Edit Client Insurance Information panel. By selecting the established Best Pricing Source as the NAIC Price Source, you can then make use of multiple actual pricing sources during valuation. For Insurance valuation and reporting, prices are derived from the SECURITYDBO.PRICE table record where the src_intfc_inst is equal to the NAIC Price Source and the effective_date is equal to the last business day of the month. The source_src_intfc_inst on this row should carry the code for the actual source of the price, for example, Bloomberg, IDC, NAIC. The source_src_intfc_inst value from this row is built in the Insurance Lot Valuation table as the Val Price Source (tag 8801). This value become the Source Used to Obtain Fair Value on the vendor extracts, and drives the assignment of the Method Used to Obtain Fair Value on the vendor extracts.
