Set Up Pricing Enrichments

Enrichments provide customers with the option to apply a price other than a vendor-provided price to a security. Enrichments are assigned to data strategies by customers after they have been created.

Eagle pricing has the following enrichment types:

  • Use fixed price

  • Derive price using a formula

  • Derive price using security’s price

  • Derive price using an index’s movement

  • Derive price using underlying security

To set up pricing enrichments:

  1. From the Setup workspace, click Price Enrichments in the left navigation.
    You see the Price Enrichments workspace with the list of available Pricing Enrichments.

  2. Click Create New and select the enrichment type from the drop-down list. Options include:
    –  Use fixed price
    –  Derive price using a formula
    –  Derive price using security's price
    –  Derive price using an index's movement
    –  Derive price using underlying security
    You see the Definition page.

Define the Enrichment

All price enrichments have the same definition setup features.  You can define an enrichment by name, start and end date and description.

To define the enrichment:

  1. In the Name text box, enter a name for the enrichment.

  2. In the Description text box, optionally enter a description of the enrichment

  3. The Data Type field defaults to Price.

  4. Enter the Start Date. this is the date on which the enrichment will be applied.

  5. Optionally, enter the End Date. This determines the last effective date will be applied to. 

  6. Click Next.
    You see the Details page.

Specify the Enrichment Details for Use Fixed Price

In the Enrichment Details page you can specify details for the type of the enrichment being configured.

To specify the enrichment details for Use Fixed Price:

  1. Click Define for Security Selection Criteria and use the Logic Builder to configure the attributes of the target security or securities that you want the enrichment to apply to.

  2. Enter the Fixed Price for the enrichment. This is the price you want applied by the enrichment in the field.

  3. Optionally, select the Price Level that you want applied to securities by the enrichment.

  4. Optionally, enter any Price Level Comments you may have in the space provided.

  5. Click Save & Close.
    You see the enrichment added to the Enrichment workspace.

Specify the Enrichment Details for Derive Price Using a Formula

In the Enrichment Details page you can specify details for the type of the enrichment being configured.

To specify the enrichment details for derive price using a formula:

  1. Click Define for Security Selection Criteria and use the Logic Builder to configure the attributes of the target security or securities that you want the enrichment to apply to.

  2. Optionally, select the Price Level that you want applied to securities by the enrichment.

  3. Optionally, enter any Price Level Comments you may have in the space provided.

  4. Under Formula, Click Define to configure the formula you want applied by the enrichment. The formula can contain the Price Hierarchy field. This is a special internal field that uses the highest validated price in the data strategies source hierarchy rule in the formula.

  5. Click Save & Close.
    You see the enrichment added to the Enrichment workspace.

Specify the Enrichment Details for Derive Price Using Security's Price

In the Enrichment Details page you can specify details for the type of the enrichment being configured.

To specify the enrichment details for derive price using security's price:

  1. Click Define for Security Selection Criteria and use the Logic Builder to configure the attributes of the target security or securities that you want the enrichment to apply to.

  2. Select the gold-copy Source from the options available in the drop-down list.

  3. Select the Security from the options available in the drop-down list.

  4. Under Price level details, Price Level that you want applied to securities by the enrichment.

  5. Optionally, select the Price Level you want applied to securities the enrichment is used for.

  6. Optionally, enter any Price Level Comments you may have in the space provided.

  7. Optionally, click Define to configure the formula you want applied by the enrichment to the source security's price.

  8. Select the FX Source to be used in instances where the two securities have different pricing currencies.

  9. Select the FX Field to be used in instances where the two securities have different pricing currencies.

  10. Select the FX Date Rule to be used in instances where the two securities have different pricing currencies.

  11. Click Save & Close.
    You see the enrichment added to the Enrichment workspace.

Specify the Enrichment Details for Derive Price Using Index's Movement

In the Enrichment Details page you can specify details for the type of the enrichment being configured.

To specify the enrichment details for derive price using index's movement:

  1. Click Define for Security Selection Criteria and use the Logic Builder to configure the attributes of the target security or securities that they want the enrichment to apply to.

  2. Select the gold-copy Source from the options available in the drop-down list.

  3. Select the Index movement you want applied to the target security or securities.

  4. Configure the Date Rule you want applied to the index movement.

  5. Under Price Level Details, optionally select the Price Level that you want applied to securities by the enrichment.

  6. Optionally, enter any Price Level Comments you may have in the space provided.

  7. Optionally select a Formula from the drop down list. This is the formula you want applied by the enrichment to the source security's price.

  8. Click Save & Close.
    You see the enrichment added to the Enrichment workspace.

Specify the Enrichment Details for Derive Price Using Underlying Security

In the Enrichment Details page you can specify details for the type of the enrichment being configured.

To specify the enrichment details for derive price using underlying security: 

  1. Click Define for Security Selection Criteria and use the Logic Builder to configure the attributes of the target security or securities that they want the enrichment to apply to.

  2. Select the gold-copy Source from the options available in the drop-down list.

  3. Under Price Level Details, optionally select the Price Level that you want applied to securities by the enrichment.

  4. Optionally, enter any Price Level Comments you may have in the space provided.

  5. Optionally select a Formula from the drop down list. This is the formula you want applied by the enrichment to the source security's price.

  6. Select the FX Source to be used in instances where the parent and child securities have different pricing currencies.

  7. Select the FX Field to be used in instances where the parent and child securities have different pricing currencies.

  8. Select the FX Date Rule to be used in instances where the parent and child securities have different pricing currencies.

  9. Click Save & Close.
    You see the enrichment added to the Enrichment workspace.

Apply Enrichments to Data Strategies

After an enrichment has been configured, it must be applied to a data strategy or strategy for it to be used by the system. Any data strategy that has security criteria that matches the security of the target security in the enrichment will be compatible with the enrichment. You can apply the desired enrichment by selecting it from the drop-down menu available in the enrichment tab of the data strategy.
