Maintain NAV Data

You can change the NAV and related data that you previously loaded to the database by using the Performance menu's NAV Maintenance option. NAV maintenance allows you to scrub fund accounting data stored on the NAV table in the HOLDING database. The system logs all changes to a journal for audit purposes.

To maintain the NAV data:

  1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.

  2. Enter NAV Maintenance in the Start Search text box.

  3. Click the NAV Maintenance (Performance Center) link.
You see the NAV Maintenance workspace.

  4. Select one of the following options to identify the NAV data you want to change:

    • Profile. In the Profiles box, select a Net Asset Value report profile to retrieve the data you want to maintain. The system selects this option by default.
NAV report profile method is required when you want to maintain several funds at the same time. For example, assume that you import the fund accounting data feed without distributions for all your fixed income funds. You edit a NAV report so that it runs for all fixed income funds for a specified date range, and run the report to verify that the distributions are missing. Next, from the NAV Maintenance window, you set the profile option to the report you just ran. You do not have to reconfigure the report parameters. You select the existing (now edited) NAV report profile from the list and click Submit. For more information, see Reporting Net Asset Value and Related Data.

    • Filter. You can select this option to enter query filters to specify an entity, date range, and source for the NAV data you want to review.
Query filters allow you to quickly define the fund and date range for NAV data you want to scrub. When you have a specific fund that you need to maintain, and prefer not to modify an underlying NAV report profile, this method offers a more efficient workflow.
For a detailed comparison of these methods and more information about entering filter criteria, see Using Query Filters in NAV Maintenance.

  5. If you want to display the original and edited source data side-by-side, select the Display Edited Source check box.
For more information, see Display the Source for Edited Data.

  6. Click Submit.
You see the NAV Maintenance window displays the data that met your criteria as shown in the following figure.

  7. Select a cell and type over the values to modify the data on the report.
The cell background color is yellow for the data that you changed.

  8. Click Save to save the changes to the database.
You see the Journal link displays the changes that you made.
