Performance Analysis Logging

The Performance Analysis log files help you to find and understand the dates used for entity and field processes. Reports that contain linking fields display a Date Evaluation Summary when run at Log Level 8. The summary looks similar to the following:

Section 3: Begin Field Date Evaluation Summary
04/09/2004 1:34:22-> Level:8, 09/29/1991-09/30/1991 for Field-DMN-Mod Dietz Monthly[3260], Frequency:M, Entity:BMB POR3

04/09/2004 11:34:22-> Level:8, Section 3: End Field Date Evaluation Summary

The summary description contains the field attribute name and identifier, the frequency of the underlying Performance Analysis field, and the range covered by the linking period.

For more detailed analysis, when run at level 10, the log includes two additional sections: Section 1 is the Independent field date evaluation and Section 2 is the Entity-dependent field date evaluation.
The first section displays the details of fields with dates dependent only on the effective date of the report. For example, n Observations back, between two fixed dates or using a date rule based on the report date.

The second section displays information for fields with dates that can only be determined using a date field related to the entity in the report. For example, FYTD using a field where the date field is found on the ENTITY_DETAILS table.
