Run Metadata Analysis Reports

In the Metadata Manager, you can run the Related Metadata analysis report and the Type and Attribute list report. You can run these reports for all types, or for selected types.

Run the Related Metadata Report

The Related Metadata analysis report contains all related metadata types supported for any type of metadata.
This report includes the following metadata:

  • Parents Paths List. Lists all the parent related metadata paths.
  • Children Paths List. Lists all the children related metadata paths.
  • Mapping Paths List. Lists all the mapping related metadata paths.

Run the Related Metadata Report for All Types

To run the Related Metadata - All report:

  1. From any Metadata Manager window, click Analysis, select Metadata and click Related Metadata – All.
    You see the Save Analysis Results dialog box that allows you to select a folder and file name where the Excel spreadsheet with the analysis data will be stored.
  2. Enter the folder and file name for the Excel file.
  3. Click Save.
    You see the Analysis Results window with the Summary view as the default.
  4. Click the Parents Paths List tab, the Children Paths List tab, or the Mapping Paths List tab to view the details.
  5. To access the actual Excel file, click Open File.

Run the Related Metadata Report for Selected Types

To run the Related Metadata – Selected report:

  1. From any Metadata Manager window, click Types in the navigation path, or click the Types bottom tab to display types in the workspace.
  2. In the left navigation, click any type category and double click to select a type.
    You see the item list for the type you selected.
  3. Click to select a specific type. To select several rows, press and hold the CTRL key.
  4. Click Analysis, select Metadata and click Related Metadata – Selected.
    You see the Save Analysis Results dialog box that allows you to select a folder and file name where the Excel spreadsheet with the analysis data will be stored.
  5. Enter the folder and file name for the Excel file.
  6. Click Save.
    You see the Analysis Results window with the Summary view as the default.
  7. Click the Parents Paths List tab, the Children Paths List tab, or the Mapping Paths List tab to view the details.
  8. To access the actual Excel file, click Open File.

Run the Type and Attribute List Report

The Types and Attributes report contains all metadata types and their type attributes and a list of all metadata types and their item attributes.
This report includes the following metadata:

  • Type List. Lists all the metadata types and descriptions.
  • Type Attribute List. Lists all the metadata types and their type attributes.
  • Item Attribute List. Lists all the metadata types and their item attributes.

Run the Type and Attribute List Report for All Types

To run the Types and Attributes – All report:

  1. From any Metadata Manager window, click Analysis, select Metadata and click Types and Attributes – All.
