Manage Swing Entity Rule Relationships

The Swing Entity Rule Relationships links rules created for swing pricing to the entity and activates the entity to use swing pricing. Before setting up the swing entity rule relationship, you need to set up the following swing rules:

Create Swing Entity Rule Relationships

In the Create Swing Entity Rule Relationship panel, you can create a new swing entity rule relationship for swing pricing.

To create a swing entity rule relationship:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Fund Accounting > Swing Pricing > Create Swing Entity Rule Relationship.
    You see the Create Swing Entity Rule Relationship panel.

  2. Complete the options on the panel.

  3. Click Submit.

The following are the options in the Create Swing Entity Rule Relationship panel where you create swing entity rule relationships for swing pricing.

Entity ID

Specifies the ID of the entity you want to link to swing rules and activate the swing pricing.

Entity Name

Specifies the name of the entity you want to link to swing rules and activate the swing pricing.

Swing Decision Rule Name

Specifies the name of the swing decision rule you want to assign to the entity. You can assign the same rule to multiple entities.

Swing Decision Rule Active Status

1283

Specifies the status of the swing decision rule you assign to the entity. Options include:

  • ACTIVE. Default. The system activates the entity for swing pricing.

  • INACTIVE. The system inactivates the entity for swing pricing for a period of time without removing the entity relationship setup.

Holdings Exclusion Rule Name

9063

Specifies the name of the holdings exclusion rule you want to assign to the entity. You can assign the same rule to multiple entities.

Transaction Cost Inclusion Rule Name

11562

Specifies the name of the transaction cost inclusion rule you want to assign to the entity. You can assign the same rule to multiple entities.

Auto Approve Swing Factor

11301

Specifies whether the swing factor is automatically approved. Options include:

  • No. Default. The system does not automatically approve the swing factor.

  • Yes. The systems automatically approves the swing factor.

Change Swing Entity Rule Relationships

In the List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship panel, you can edit an existing swing entity rule relationship for swing pricing.

To change a swing entity rule relationship:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Fund Accounting > Swing Pricing > List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship.
    You see the List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship panel.

  2. In the Please Select Action field, select Change Swing Entity Rule Relationship(s).

  3. Click the Query Options field, and select the query parameter to use to filter query results. Additional fields appear after you select a value.
    Options include:
    - All Records. Default. Allows you to view all created swing entity rule relationships.
    - Relationships by Rule Name. Allows you to view swing entity rule relationships related to a specified rule name.
    - Relationships by Entity. Allows you to view swing entity rule relationships related to a entity.

  4. Specify the Swing Decision Rule Name field value to identify the name of the swing decision rule to filter related swing entity rule relationships.
    This field appears if you set the Query Options field to a value of Relationships by Rule Name.

  5. Specify the Entity ID or Entity Name field value to identify the entity to filter related swing entity rule relationships.
    This field appears if you set the Query Options field to a value of Relationships by Entity.

  6. Click Submit.
    You see a list of swing entity rule relationship details that met your criteria in the Show All tab. Each row represents a rule sequence grouping.

  7. Select the check box for one or more rows of the rule details that you want to edit, and click Change Swing Entity Rule Relationship.
    You see the selected rule details in the Change Swing Entity Rule Relationship panel. The pane at the bottom of the panel includes a row for each selected sequence in the swing entity rule relationship.

  8. Change the selected swing entity rule relationship criteria. 
    You can change all values.

  9. Click Submit.
    The system updates the selected details for the swing entity rule relationship.

List Swing Entity Rule Relationships

In the List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship panel, you can view a list of existing swing entity rule relationship for swing pricing.

To view a list of swing entity rule relationship:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Fund Accounting > Swing Pricing > List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship.
    You see the List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship panel.

  2. In the Please Select Action field, select List Swing Entity Rule Relationship(s).

  3. Click the Query Options field, and select the query parameter to use to filter query results. Additional fields appear after you select a value.
    Options include:
    - All Records. Default. Allows you to view all created swing entity rule relationships.
    - Relationships by Rule Name. Allows you to view swing entity rule relationships related to a specified rule name.
    - Relationships by Entity. Allows you to view swing entity rule relationships related to a entity.

  4. Specify the Swing Decision Rule Name field value to identify the name of the swing decision rule to filter related swing entity rule relationships.
    This field appears if you set the Query Options field to a value of Relationships by Rule Name.

  5. Specify the Entity ID or Entity Name field value to identify the entity to filter related swing entity rule relationships.
    This field appears if you set the Query Options field to a value of Relationships by Entity.

  6. Click Submit.
    You see report results in the Swing Rule Relationships tab, along with a list of swing entity rule relationships that met your criteria in the Show All tab.

Delete Swing Entity Rule Relationships

In the List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship panel, you can delete a swing entity rule relationship.

To delete a swing entity rule relationship:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Setup > Fund Accounting > Swing Pricing > List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship.
    You see the List, Change or Delete Swing NAV Rule Relationship panel.

  2. In the Please Select Action field, select Delete Swing Entity Rule Relationship(s).

  3. Click the Query Options field, and select the query parameter to use to filter query results. Additional fields appear after you select a value.
    Options include:
    - All Records. Default. Allows you to view all created swing entity rule relationships.
    - Relationships by Rule Name. Allows you to view swing entity rule relationships related to a specified rule name.
    - Relationships by Entity. Allows you to view swing entity rule relationships related to a entity.

  4. Specify the Swing Decision Rule Name field value to identify the name of the swing decision rule to filter related swing entity rule relationships.
    This field appears if you set the Query Options field to a value of Relationships by Rule Name.

  5. Specify the Entity ID or Entity Name field value to identify the entity to filter related swing entity rule relationships.
    This field appears if you set the Query Options field to a value of Relationships by Entity.

  6. Click Submit.
    You see a list of swing entity rule relationship details that met your criteria in the Show All tab. Each row represents a rule sequence grouping.

  7. Select the check box for one or more rows of the rule details that you want to delete, and click Delete Swing Entity Relationship.
    You see the selected rule details in the Delete Swing Entity Relationship panel. The pane at the bottom of the panel includes a row for each selected sequence in the swing entity rule relationships.

  8. Review the rule criteria that you selected for deletion.
    You cannot change any values displayed for the rule.

  9. Click Submit.
    The system deletes the selected details for the swing entity rule relationships.
