About the Eagle Version
For all CSV file formats, the CSV Editor window displays the Eagle Version column that is optional. If you enter a value in the Eagle Version column, the CSV file will be used only if the Eagle version in the current environment is equal to, or greater than, the version you entered. If you want to use the CSV file for any Eagle version, do not enter values in the Eagle Version column.
If the CSV file contains duplicate records based on a unique key, but has a different value in the Eagle Version column, only one record will be selected – the record that does not have an Eagle version, or the record with the highest Eagle version.
The Eagle version value is also used in the CSV Configuration wizard where mandatory minimum and maximum versions are set for the Collector Engine bots. These bots will run only for the minimum through maximum version of the Eagle software. You can also view the bot version in the bot section of the Types window.
Create a CSV File
To create a CSV file with the CSV Editor:
From any Metadata Manager window, click CSV Loader, select CSV Editor and click Create.
You see the Specify CSV File Type dialog box.Click the drop down to select the CSV file format.
You see the CSV Editor window.Enter the appropriate information and click Save.
You see the Save As dialog box with the File save as type equal to CSV file.Enter the appropriate file name and location and click Save.
You see the file name and location of the newly created file in the CSV Editor window.To close the CSV Editor window, click the X on the CSV Editor bottom tab, or click Close.
Edit a CSV File
To edit an existing CSV file with the CSV Editor:
From any Metadata Manager window, click CSV Loader, select CSV Editor and click Edit.
You see the Open dialog box.Select the appropriate file name and click Open.
You see the Specify CSV File Type dialog box.Click the drop down to select the CSV file format you wish to edit.
You see the CSV Editor window.Edit the appropriate information and click Save.
To close the CSV Editor window, click the X on the CSV Editor bottom tab, or click Close.
Configure a CSV File
The CSV Configuration wizard can only configure existing CSV files. Verify that your files are created prior to running this wizard.
To configure a CSV file for loading:
From any Metadata Manager window, click CSV Loader and select CSV Configuration.
You see the Welcome dialog box.Click Next.
You see the Step - 1: Existing or New Metadata Type dialog box.If you are loading an existing type, click to select Existing Metadata Type and select the type from the drop down. If you are loading a new type, click to select Create new Metadata Type and enter the name and description.
Click Next.
You see the Step - 2: Existing or New Metadata Folder dialog box.Folders are required to hold the CSV files. If you are using an existing metadata type, click to select Existing folder and select the path from the drop down. If you are creating a new metadata type, click to select New folder, enter a unique folder name, and enter the appropriate path.
Click Next.
You see the Step - 3: Select Type of Metadata and Specify CSV File Names dialog box.Click the drop down to select the appropriate environment, Oracle or MSSQL, for which the CSV files will be loaded.
Click the plus button to select the metadata type that you are loading, such as Items, Item Attributes, Parents and Children, Maps, Map Attributes, or Mapping.
Each type has a bot that will be used by the Collector Engine to load your metadata to the Metadata Manager's database.Specify the minimum and maximum Eagle version for which the bot will be allowed to run.
Click Next.
You see Finish dialog box that contains details about the CSV file you configured.Click Finish to complete the configuration of your CSV file.
The CSV file will be picked by the next run of the Collector Engine.To view the metadata you added via this file, click Refresh to refresh the Types window after the Collector Engine run has completed.
