Publish Dashboard Parts and Views

 

In the Eagle Portal, you can publish dashboard parts and dashboard views to make them available to all Eagle Portal users, specific individual users, or specific user groups.

You must have permissions to publish dashboard parts and views. Check with the Eagle Portal Administrator to make sure you have the appropriate permissions.

Publish a Dashboard Part

To publish a dashboard part:

  1. From the Eagle Portal main window, click Dashboards.
    You see the Dashboards window displayed in the default view.

  2. Click the Manage drop down menu and select Parts.
    You see the Parts window with all the dashboard parts available to you.

  3. Click the check box next to the dashboard part you wish to publish and click the Publish icon.
    You see the Edit dashboard part dialog box.

  4. Click Add/Remove to assign permissions for this part to specific Eagle Portal users or user groups. You can search by user name or group name to quickly locate the user or group.

  5. Click the Make this available to all users check box to make this part available to all Eagle Portal users.

  6. Click Finish to publish the dashboard part.

  7. Click Manage Dashboard Views to return to the Views window. Or, click Return to Dashboard to return to the Dashboards window in the current view.

Publish a Dashboard View

To publish a dashboard view:

  1. From the Eagle Portal main window, click Dashboards.
    You see the Dashboards window displayed in the default view.

  2. Click the Manage drop down and select Views.
    You see the Views window with My Dashboard Views and Shared Dashboard Views areas.

  3. To publish a view you created, under My Dashboard Views, click the check box next to the view and click the Publish icon.

  4. To republish a shared view, under Shared Dashboard Views, click the check box next to the view and click Edit.
    You see the Publish Dashboard View window.

  5. Select the appropriate options:
    –  Publish As. Allows you to assign a name to the dashboard view and select multilingual translation options, if needed.
    –  Description. Allows you to enter a brief description of the published dashboard view and select multilingual translation options, if needed.
    –  Re-publish the contents of this view. Allows you to make changes to the published dashboard view after the initial publishing.
    –  Make this available to all users. Allows you to make the dashboard view available to all Eagle Portal users.
    –  Add/Remove. Allows you to specify the users or groups that will have access to the published view. You can search by user name or group name to quickly locate the user or group.

  6. Click Save and Publish.
    You see that the dashboard view you published is displayed in the Shared Dashboard Views area of the Views window.
