Set Up Reference Data for Private Equities

Before you use a capital-based fund investment workflow for use with private equity, you must set up reference data.

Set Up a Security Type or Sub Security Type for Private Equity

If you choose, you can set up your own security type or sub security type to identify Private Equity.

Set Up a Fund Investment Security

You can use Reference Data Center (RDC) to create securities based on the Private Equity data strategy. Otherwise, if you are an Eagle Accounting client that has not yet shifted from using Issue Viewer to RDC, you can use Issue Viewer's Fund Investment panel to set up the security. When you set up the fund investment for private equity:

  • Set the processing security type (PST) to Capital Based Fund Investment (EQCBFI) in order to use private equity processing for the Capital Based Fund Investment workflow.

  • Set the Investment Period End Date field value if you need to track an expected end date for the investment period.

If you created a Security Type or Sub Security Type for use with private equity, you can select that Security Type or Sub Security Type. However, be aware that the system uses the Capital Based Fund Investment transactions and processing workflow only when you assign the EQCBFI processing security to the security.
