Configure Silent Migration

Migration Wizard allows you to configure default Silent Migration values to use during the migration process. During the automated Silent Migration process, if the destination environment does not contain a matching Entity, Security Alias, Business Group, Performance Model, Counter, PACE Engine (for Automation Center Event), or Custom Archive Rule, then the silent migration process uses the default values defined to migrate the components into the destination environment. You need to configure these default values as an one-time setup.

Define Silent Migration Values

To configure silent migration default values:

  1. In Migration Wizard, from the left navigation, select Setup > Silent migration
    By default, you see the Silent Migration workspace.

  2. Configure the default values for silent migration. See the table below for the list of default values and their definitions.

  3. Click Save Changes to save your changes.

Root Directory

This is the root directory where the EGL files for migration is located. This is where the Silent Migration executable will look for files to be migrated. The default path is /apps/eagle/data/migration. This field is disabled, by default.

Import Directory

This is the directory where the EGL files for import is dropped. The default path is /apps/eagle/data/migration/import. This field is disabled, by default.

Default PACE Engine

Select a default PACE Engine  for the silent migration process.  If the .EGL file (in the case of Automation Center - Configure Profile events) which is migrated contains a PACE Engine that does not exist in the destination environment, then the silent migration process uses the configured Default PACE Engine.

Default Custom Archive Rule

Select a default Custom Archive Rule for the silent migration process. If the .EGL file, which is migrated contains a Custom Archive Rule that does not exist in the destination environment, then the silent migration process uses the configured Default Custom Archive Rule.

Default Counter

Select a default Counter for the silent migration process. If the .EGL file, which is migrated contains a Counter that does not exist in the destination environment, then the silent migration process uses the configured Default Counter.

Default Performance Model

Select a default Performance Model for the silent migration process. If the .EGL file, which is migrated contains a Performance Model that does not exist in the destination environment, then the silent migration process uses the configured Default Performance Model.

Default Business Group

Select a default Business Group for the silent migration process. If the .EGL file, which is migrated contains a Business Group that does not exist in the destination environment, then the silent migration process uses the configured Default Business Group

Default Security Alias

Select a default Security Alias for the silent migration process. If the .EGL file, which is migrated contains a Security Alias that does not exist in the destination environment, then the silent migration process uses the configured Default Security Alias.

Default Entity

Select a default Entity for the silent migration process. If the .EGL file, which is migrated contains a Entity that does not exist in the destination environment, then the silent migration process uses the configured Default Entity.
