Migrate Multiple Solutions, Interfaces, Datasets, and Files

IWS for EDS interfaces (EDS Tool) allows you to export multiple solutions, interfaces, datasets, and additional files at once. This ability is available in EDS tool version v2.0.10.51 (release IWS_2021_02_09).

To migrate multiple solutions:

  1. Open IWS for EDS interfaces (EDS Tool).
You see the EDS starting page.

    EDS Get Started page
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Migrate.
You see the Select desired items to migrate window. The page is comprised of two panes. The Available Solutions pane on the left displays a list of all available solutions. The Selected Items pane on the right displays the solutions you selected for migration.

  3. To add a solution to the package, in the Available Solutions pane, select the check box next to the solution name.
The Selected Items pane shows the selected solution with all its content and dependent items. Be aware that there are two ways to see available data. The Solutions tab and the Files tab at the bottom of the window allow you to switch between Solutions and Files views. The Files view is very useful if you need to add any files which are not part of any solution.

  4. If you need to remove some components from the solution before migration, you can expand the selected solution and clear the check boxes of undesired items.
You can remove child items from selected solutions if the solution was published with EDS v2.0.10.51 or higher.

  5. To select the Files view, click Files.
You can select the Files view if you need to add any files which are not part of any solution. The File System pane on the left displays a list of all available solutions. The Selected Files pane on the right displays the files you selected for migration.

  6. Under File System, expand the entries to find the file that you want to add.

  7. Right-click the file you want to add, and then click Add to Package.
You see the selected file in the Selected Files pane.

  8. If you click the Solutions tab to switch back to the Solutions view, notice that the Selected Items pane shows this additional item under the special Additions node.

  9. When you finish selecting the items, click Create a Package.
You see the Select files to be exported standard export box.

  10. Review your choices, specify the destination folder, and click Export.

To import such a complex package, you can just use the regular Import option.
