Cancel Wash Sale Adjustments

In the Cancel Manual Wash Sale Adjustments panel, you can cancel a manual wash sale adjustment.

To cancel a manual wash sale adjustment:

  1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.
  2. Enter CancelManual Wash Sale Adjustment in the Start Search text box.
  3. Click the Cancel Manual Wash Sale Adjustment (Accounting Center) link to access the panel.
    You see the Cancel Manual Wash Sale Adjustment panel.
  4. Complete the options on the Cancel Manual Wash Sale Adjustment panel.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Close the Cancel Manual Wash Sale Adjustment bottom tab to return to the Accounting Center.

  • Open Lot Adjustment.
  • Substantially Identical Wash Sale. If you are cancelling a substantially identical wash sale adjustment, ensure you specify the open issue for the position that received the disallowance.
  • Single Security Wash Sale.

Event Type

Displays the business intent of the cancel transaction. Shows a value of CANCEL.

Begin Date

Defines the begin date, which identifies the first trade date used to display trades in the Choose Trade to Cancel field (tag 962) lookup.

Choose Lot to Cancel

Allows you to select the trade associated with the manual wash sale adjustments that you want to cancel. The lookup displays trades that met your criteria, ordered by the Event ID and describing the Trade Date, Orig B Disallowance, Orig L Disallowance, and Trade Ticket Number.
If you want to cancel an Identified Lot (IDLOT) trade, you can identify the target Trade Ticket Number. Be aware that the trade may be associated with multiple adjustment lots, and that the cancellation affects all adjustment lots.

  • System Defined Open. Indicates that the system determined the target open or opens for which to disallow the loss.

Washsale Close Security Alias

Displays the security alias of the close security in a wash sale transaction. The system uses this value if the loss is from a close lot of a different security.
