Run and Manage Inbox Reports

In the Eagle Portal, you can view and run reports delivered to your Eagle Portal Inbox. The Inbox is a central location where you can view, submit, distribute, and delete reports, and check the report status. To access Inbox reports, click Reports in the Eagle Portal main window. The Reports window contains the Inbox and Scheduled areas that give you many options for retrieving, reviewing, and distributing reports on a scheduled or on demand (ad hoc) basis.

All Inbox reports are defined and configured by the Eagle Portal Administrator. To run Inbox reports, you need to know the portfolio name and the time period for the report.

About the Eagle Portal Inbox

The Inbox provides you with a range of reports produced directly from Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools, the Eagle Data Mart, internal systems such as Eagle Accounting, and third party vendors. The Inbox allows you publish your client statements to the Web, send reports and spreadsheets to your users, and provide your users with a report document library. You can distribute and customize reports, such as spreadsheets, research reports, and internal company memos via the Inbox.

You can also rearrange how reports are displayed in the Reports window by dragging and dropping columns and sorting and filtering reports by the following options:

  • Report Name

  • As of Date

  • Report Category

  • Size

  • Sent

Access an Inbox Report

To access an Inbox report:

  1. From the Eagle Portal main window, click Reports.
    You see the Reports window with the Inbox and Scheduled areas.

  2. In the Inbox area, click Sent to see the most recent reports.

  3. To sort the reports, click the underlined report name.

  4. To set a filter for searching, click the icon next to the As of Date or Report Category columns to access the Report Filter dialog box.

  5. To view the report file, click the report name or the icon in the Attachment column.

  6. Click Open or Save in the File Download dialog box to view the report.

Manage Inbox Reports

To manage Inbox reports:

  1. From the Eagle Portal main window, click Reports.
    You see the Reports window with the Inbox and Scheduled areas.

  2. In the Inbox area, click the check box next to the report name and select the appropriate options:
    –  View Details. Allows you to access the Report Details dialog box to view additional report details.
    –  Delete. Allows you to delete a selected report.
    –  Delete All. Allows you to delete all reports in the Inbox.
    –  Refresh. Allows you to refresh the information displayed in the Inbox area.

  3. In the Scheduled area, click the check box next to the report name and select the appropriate options:
    –  New. Allows you to create a report to run as scheduled or on demand (ad hoc).
    –  Edit. Allows you to select a scheduled report and edit it. Ad hoc reports cannot be edited.
    –  Resubmit. When displayed next to the ad hoc report you submitted, allows you to resubmit the report. This option does not apply to scheduled reports.
    –  Delete. Allows you to delete reports from the Scheduled area.
    –  Refresh. Allows you to refresh the information displayed in the Scheduled area.

Run Inbox Reports

The Eagle Portal allows you to submit and resubmit reports from the Inbox. You can submit reports to run on a schedule or on demand (ad hoc). You can also resubmit successfully completed reports by using the same portfolios and report run dates. 

To resubmit a report with different portfolios or report run dates, the Eagle Portal Administrator must configure a report profile for you.

Submit a Report from the Inbox

To submit a report from the Inbox:

  1. From the Eagle Portal main window, click Reports.
    You see the Reports window with the Inbox and Scheduled areas.

  2. In the Scheduled area, click New.
    You see the Submit Report dialog box.

  3. Select the appropriate options:
    –  Report Type. Allows you to select a report type.
    –  Report Name. Allows you to select a report name.
    –  Portfolio. Allows you to select one or more portfolios.
    –  Date Rule. Allows you to select a date rule for the report.
    –  Date(s). Allows you to select a date or dates for the report.
    –  Right Now. Allows you to run a report on demand when you click Submit.
    –  Schedule. Allows you to run a report on a schedule.
    –  Advanced Report Options. Allows you to specify option names and values, as needed.

  4. Click Submit.
    You see the report name displayed in the Scheduled area with the portfolios and dates you selected and with the Queued status.

  5. To view the completed report, access the Inbox area and scroll to find the report.

Resubmit a Report from the Inbox

To resubmit a report from the Inbox with the same portfolio and date:

  1. From the Eagle Portal main window, click Reports.
    You see the Reports window with the Inbox and Scheduled areas.

  2. In the Scheduled area, click the check box next to the report name and click Resubmit.
