In the Environment workspace, you can add and deliver files via the Briefcase from different workspace views.

Manage Briefcase Files from the Grid View

To add and deliver files via the Briefcase from the Grid view:

  1. In System Management Center, click Environment in the left navigation.
  2. Click Group Services By and select Grid.
  3. In the Grid view, right click the service whose files you wish to add to the Briefcase, click Briefcase and select Add Logs or Add Configs.
  4. Review the Briefcase button on the ribbon - it now shows a small icon above with the number of files that have been added.In this example, we added 9 log files and 7 configuration files to the Briefcase for a total of 16 files.
  5. Click the Briefcase button and select View Briefcase.
  6. In the Files dialog box, all files added to the Briefcase are checked by default. Click to uncheck any files you do not wish to be delivered. Click Next.
  7. In the Method dialog box, your email is the default address. To use a different email, click the Mail address drop down, select Other and enter the email address. 
  8. To verify the delivery destination, click the Test delivery button.If you supplied a valid email address, you will receive a test email in your Inbox, similar to the email shown below. You will also see the Upload Status dialog box.
  9. Click OK in the Upload Status dialog box and click Next to start the file delivery.
  10. In the Result dialog box, review the file delivery status.
  11. Review the email sent to your Inbox. Double click the attached zipped archive to view the delivered files.
  12. To remove all files from the Briefcase, click the Clear Briefcase button.
  13. To close the Briefcase, click the X on the Delivery Briefcase bottom tab.

Note

Files are saved in the Briefcase only during the current session of System Management Center. If you log out of System Management Center, all files are automatically deleted from the Briefcase.

Manage Briefcase Files from the Tier View

To add and deliver files via the Briefcase from the Tier view:

  1. In System Management Center, click Environment in the left navigation.
  2. Click Group Services By and select Tier.
  3. Click to expand the Application Tier or the Web Server Tier folder and click to select the appropriate environment.
  4. To add configuration files to the Briefcase, click the Configuration tab, click to select a file, and right click to select Add to Briefcase.
  5. To add log files to the Briefcase, click the Logs tab, click to select a file, and right click to select Add To Briefcase.
  6. Review the Briefcase button on the ribbon - it now shows a small icon above with the number of files that have been added. In this example, we added 1 configuration and 1 log file to the Briefcase for a total of 2 files.
  7. Click the Briefcase button and select View Briefcase.
  8. In the Files dialog box, all files added to the Briefcase are checked by default. Click to uncheck any files you do not wish to be delivered. Click Next.
  9. In the Method dialog box, your email is the default address. To use a different email, click the Mail address drop down, select Other and enter the email address.

Note
