In the Entity Detail window, you can view and edit entity details including historic data. You can edit any entity related field or relationship assignment on the Entity Details, Benchmark, Peer Group, Disclosures, Asset Mix Policy or Fee Schedule tabs.

To view or edit an entity:

  1. In the Portfolio Desk workspace, in the left navigation pane, click the appropriate entity.
The Entity summary workspace for the type of entity you selected opens, displaying all available entities of that type.
  2. Click the View By drop-down list and then select All.
WHAT HAPPENS? ALL DOESN'T APPEAR. THE LIST IS EMPTY.
  3. Complete the required search criteria and then click Search.
The search returns a list of entities that meet the criteria you selected for the category you picked in left navigation.
  4. Double-click the entity you want to view or edit.
The Entity Detail panel opens, showing the Details tab as the default.
  5. Click the tab you want to edit (assume details for this example).
  6. In the Entity Details tab, double-click the Current Day field you want to change.
The Current Value dialog box opens. By default, the details window is rendered in current mode (you can edit only the current record). To view and make edits to historic data, enable history mode as explained in earlier in the History Mode section of this document.

For entity cross-reference fields, click the field, then enter the value into the text box, and then go to Step 11.
  7. In the New Value text box, enter the new value for the field. Fields based on code values provide a drop-down list of available code values.
  8. In the Edit Type drop-down list, select an edit type. Select one of the following options:

    OptionsDescription

    Override

The system uses the new value for the field.
DefaultThe system uses the new value if no vendor data is received and the override date has not expired.

    Temporary Override

The system uses the new value until new vendor data is received.
  9. In the Expires After text box, enter the expiration date of the override.
  10. In the Reason Code drop-down list, select a reason code.
  11. (Optional) Type a user-defined comment and then click Save.
The system holds the update and displays a blue arrow to the left of the field. At this point, the system has not processed the edit. You can edit additional fields if needed.
  12. After you edit the appropriate fields, click Save.
The Change Summary dialog box opens, displaying the summary of changes.
  13. Click Submit Changes.
You receive an information message that contains comments about any remaining exceptions for the composite.
  14. To return to the Portfolio Desk workspace, close the Entity Details tab.
