Use the Purge and Archive tool to manage data over a period of time. Purging, moving or archiving data can improve your system performance by moving the data that you no longer need or access infrequently. Use of these tools can increase the available amount of space and improve the performance speed of your system. Before you use these tools, you must decide if you want to archive, purge or move data based on the need and frequency at which this data is accessed by end users.

Once you decide on a strategy, you can use the Purge and Archive system to copy or move specific Eagle Database information that you no longer need into the archives. You can also use it to delete information from the Eagle database.

Important: The Purge and Archive tool is a powerful tool that should be used only by an experienced user who understands the data model and who has developed a comprehensive data purge and archive strategy.
