In the Metadata Manager, you can run the Eagle Data Model (EDM) analysis reports in two formats: Eagle Data Dictionary format and MDC Data Dictionary format. You can also run the PACE Inv to STAR Dict Reconciliation and STAR Tags Reconciliation Differences reports.

Run the EDM Report in the Eagle Data Dictionary Format

When you run the EDM analysis report in the Eagle Data Dictionary format, the following metadata is included:

  • Column Descriptions. Includes all database columns and descriptions.
  • Table Descriptions. Includes all database tables and descriptions.

You can also view descriptions for these types in the Items window for types Database Table and Database Column.

To run the Eagle Data Model report in the Eagle Data Dictionary format:

  1. From any Metadata Manager window, click Analysis, select Eagle Data Model and click Eagle Data Dictionary.
    You see the Save Analysis Results dialog box that allows you to select a folder and file name where the Excel spreadsheet with the analysis data will be stored.
  2. Enter the folder and file name for the Excel file.
  3. Click Save.
    This analysis may take a few minutes to process. You see the Analysis Results window with the Summary view as the default.
  4. To access the actual Excel file, click Open File.

Run the EDM Report in the MDC Data Dictionary Format

When you run EDM analysis report in the MDC Data Dictionary format, the report is created in XLS.XML. You can subsequently format the Excel (XLS.XML) file to load in your own Database Column and Database Table descriptions for Eagle columns and tables.

To run the Eagle Data Model report in the MDC Data Dictionary format:

  1. From any Metadata Manager window, click Analysis, select Eagle Data Model, select MDC Data Dictionary and click Table Descriptions or Column Descriptions.
    You see the Save Analysis Results dialog box that allows you to select a folder and file name where the Excel file with the analysis data will be stored.
  2. Enter the folder and file name for the Excel file.
  3. Click Save.
    You see the Analysis Results window with the Summary view as the default.
  4. To access the actual Excel file, click Open File.

Run the PACE Inv to STAR Dict Reconciliation Report

The PACE Inv to STAR Dict Reconciliation report contains statistics for fields and tags in the PACE Inventory tables and the STAR Dictionary table. This analysis may be used by Eagle to reconcile the PACE Inventory tables with the STAR Dictionary table.

To run the PACE Inv to STAR Dict Reconciliation report:

  1. From any Metadata Manager window, click Analysis, select Eagle Data Model and click PACE Inv to STAR Dict Reconciliation.
    You see the Save Analysis Results dialog box that allows you to select a folder and file name where the Excel spreadsheet with the analysis data will be stored.
  2. Enter the folder and file name for the Excel file.
  3. Click Save.
    You see the Analysis Results window with the Summary view as the default.
  4. To access the actual Excel file, click Open File.

Run the STAR Tags Reconciliation Differences Report

The STAR Tags Reconciliation Differences analysis report contains the STAR tag mapping differences between the PACE INV of Fields and the Eagle Dictionary datamaps.

To run the STAR Tags Reconciliation Differences report:

  1. From any Metadata Manager window, click Analysis, select Eagle Data Model and click STAR Tags Reconciliation Differences.
    You see the Save Analysis Results dialog box that allows you to select a folder and file name where the Excel spreadsheet with the analysis data will be stored.
  2. Enter the folder and file name for the Excel file.
  3. Click Save.
    You see the Analysis Results window with the Summary view as the default.
  4. To access the actual Excel file, click Open File.
