Ribbon
The Ribbon provides you with following set of options to manage errors.

Create Error Codes
In the Errors workspace, you can add error codes to use with field validations.
To add an error code
- From the left navigation, click Setup > Errors.
You see the Errors workspace with the available list of error codes. - On the Error tab, in the Manage group, Click create New.
You see the Create New Error page. - In the Center list, select Portfolio Data Center.
- In the Code box, type a unique identifier for the code, if required.
Or else by default, when you select the center, the error code is auto-generated. - Select the severity for the error. The available options are:
- Critical: This option prevents the entity/fund from being fully released. The error is considered as critical and to proceed further, the error must be rectified.
- Warning: This option displays warning to the user but does not prevent an entity/fund from being fully released. The error is considered as more of an informational message to the user.
- In the Description box, type a description for the error.
This description is the error message the end user will see, when an entity/fund fails a validation rule. This plain-language description should indicate why an entity/fund have failed the validation. For example, Maturity date cannot be greater than Issue Date. - In the Business Description box, type additional description about the error, if required (optional).
- In the Resolution box, type the explanation to resolve the error.
- Click Save & Close.
The system generates the new error code and lists it in the Errors workspace.
Edit Error Codes
In the Errors workspace, you can edit error codes to use with field validations.
To edit error codes
- From the left navigation, click Setup > Errors.
You see the Errors workspace with the available list of error codes. - Select the error code you want to edit from the workspace.
- On the Home tab, in the Manage group, click Edit..
You see the Edit Errors page. - Review the information, make the appropriate changes, and click Save & Close.
You can see the modified error codes in the refreshed list.
Delete Error Codes
In the Errors workspace, you can delete the error codes.
To delete errors codes
- From the left navigation, click Setup > Errors.
You see the Errors workspace with the available list of error codes. - Select the error code you want to delete from the workspace.
- On the Errors tab, in the Manage group, click Delete.
You see the confirmation box to confirm deletion. - Click OK to confirm deletion.
The error code is removed from the list of available codes.
Error Codes for Selected Languages
In the Errors workspace, you can create error codes for selected languages.
To define error codes for selected languages
- From the left navigation, click Setup > Errors.
You see the Errors workspace with the available list of error codes. - Click Create New.
You see the Create New Error page. - In the Center list, select Portfolio Data Center.
- In the Code box, type a unique identifier for the code, if required.
- Select the severity for the error. The available options are: Critical; Warning
- Provide the description, business description and resolution for the error code in English.
- Under Errors tab, in Manage group, click Select Languages.
You can see the list of available languages. By default, English is selected. - Select the language which you require for the error code.
You see the Description section of the selected language. - Provide the description, business description and resolution for the error code in the selected language.
- Click Save & Close to create the error code in both English and the selected language.
The system generates the new error code for both the languages and lists it in the Errors workspace.
Search for Error Codes
In the Errors workspace, you can search for error codes.
To search for error codes
- From the left navigation, click Setup > Errors.
You see the Errors workspace with the available list of error codes. - Click the chevron next to the Search icon.
You see the Search detail pane with the default fields to define your search. - Click the Add icon to add other search parameters.
- Select Make this my default search check box to make the search criteria your default.
The next time you log on, you see the results of this search reflected in the workspace. - Select Open results in new workspace tab check box to display the search result in a separate tab.
- From the Save list, select Save/Save as to save the search criteria for future use.
- Click Clear All to remove all the selected search criteria.
- Select the appropriate search criteria and click OK.
- The system displays the error codes that match the search criteria.
Define View of Errors Workspace
In the Errors workspace, you can configure the view of the workspace.
To define the view of error workspace
- From the left navigation, click Setup > Errors.
You see the Errors workspace with the available list of error codes. - Select an error code. The Grid tab is enabled.
- Under Grids tab, select Columns in the Columns group to change the order of the columns.
- Select Group by to group the error data by a column.
- Select Ascending/Descending in Sort and Filter group to sort a column.
- Select Custom Filter to apply filters.
- To change the view of the workspace, you can rearrange the error data columns, or group the error data by a column, or sort a column, as required.
- In the search pane at the top of workspace, click Errors dropdown and select Save/Save as to save the view of the workspace.
- Select Make this my default view check box to make the workspace view as your default.
- From the Errors list, select Manage to manage the view of the Errors workspace.
