Migration Wizard is Eagle's migration tool that allows you to migrate Eagle's metadata components individually or collectively from one environment to another. The Migration Wizard supports the migration of PACE components, Message Streams, STAR Schedules, AEW Events, Action Rules and all their underlying components and rules. You can choose individual components to place in a migration cart and migrate the entire cart from one environment to another.

Migration Wizard features include the following:

Supports non-migratable components: During import, if the .EGL file contains any non-migratable component, for example if a report has multiple entities associated with it and the target environment does not match with the entire list of entities, you can still continue the migration by choosing the entities that exist in the target environment. As of now, you can manually choose the following components, if it not available in the target environment:  Entity, Performance Model, Security Alias, Business Group, Custom Archive rule, PACE Engine (in the case of Automation Center - Configure Profile events) and Counter.

Enhanced transaction processing: The Migration Wizard treats the migration of an .EGL file as one transaction. Thus, if any corruption/failure occurs when migrating (such as an application server crash or network failure) the entire migration is rolled back and nothing is committed to the target database.

Enriched logging/diagnostics: For each and every migration process, a separate migration log is generated, which provides the detailed view about each piece of data that is written to the target database. It also details each piece of dependent data that is migrated as a result of importing the .EGL file.

Silent Migration mode: The Silent Migration mode allows you to migrate EGL files into an environment without logging into PACE. This process uses an executable named SilentMigration.exe to migrate files from one directory into a target environment. Additionally, after successfully migrating all items within the migration directory, the migration log is deposited for review.
