Clients can implement new field effects in any way they choose. The effects work with the existing data that was loaded to the HOLDINGDBO.NAV table. Possible approaches include:
- Create separate reports for distinct periods to help decompose that particular performance period. For example, create one field for each effect for a specific period (such as 6 months).
- Then, include them all in one report called 'Six month return statistics' or similar. The 6 month report shows you the 6M return, NAV as of 6M ago, cumulative distributions for 6 months, High/Low NAV for past 6 months and so on.
- Then perhaps clone the report for the 12 month period. Note again that you do not have to have only one period in a report.
If you want to create numerous fields all at once you can use the copy/rename functionality and then edit as you need.
