Once the solution is generated from the Performance Implementation template, you can run it in two ways: manually in IWS, or as a scheduled event in Eagle's Automation Center (recommended for production-ready environments).

To run the solution in Automation Center, you have to create a Message Stream Process event and schedule this event to run to initiate the workflow described in the solution. Once the workflow has been initiated, it will wait for the data files to arrive to begin the actual processing.

Create the Message Stream Process Event

To create the Message Stream Process event:

  1. To access Automation Center, click the Eagle Navigator button, enter Automation Center in the Start Search text box and click the Automation Center link. Or, click All Programs and select Automation Center.
  2. In the Automation Center's Automation Desk window, click Events in the left navigation.
  3. In the Events workspace, click the Create New drop down and select Event.
  4. In the Define dialog box, enter the event name and optional description and click the Type drop down to select Message Stream Process. Click next.
  5. In the Processing tab, select the Instance for the event, the priority, delivery method and format, and the stream direction. Click Next.
  6. In the Details dialog box, click the Streams drop down and scroll down to select the performance_implementation_restart stream.
  7. Click Save & Finish to create the event and click OK in the Automation Center dialog box.

Schedule the Message Stream Process Event

To schedule the Message Stream Process event:

  1. In Automation Center, click Schedule in the left navigation to access the Schedule workspace.
  2. In the Schedule workspace, click the Create New drop down and select Schedule.
  3. In the Schedule an Event dialog box, click the Event Type drop down to select Message Stream Process and click the green Search button. Under Event Name, scroll down to select the event you created and click the green OK button.
  4. In the Define dialog box, enter the schedule name and select other appropriate settings.
  5. Click Next.
  6. In the Time dialog box, select the scheduling options for how the workflow should be initiated. In this example, the workflow will begin at 12 am. If all the steps are met, it will be marked as completed as soon as each workflow job is completed. The workflow will wait until 11:59 pm for completion before entering into a Failed status.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In the Dependency dialog box, add any dependencies, if required. Select the Event Type and Schedule Name and click the Add Dependency button. The schedule can depend on other events or message streams.
  9. Click Next.
  10. In the Notifications dialog box, configure the appropriate notifications and alerts based on the event status.
  11. Click Save & Finish to create the schedule and click OK in the Automation Center dialog box.
