Fund of funds targets identify the underlying securities or securitized funds to include in the fund of fund cash allocation process for a master fund and define the target percentage that the system uses in the fund of funds cash allocation. The target percentage represents the percentage that the master fund should hold of the security after the allocation occurs, or a target percentage of holdings for that securitized fund.
You must enter a target percentage an asset class type, and a reinvestment ratio for each underlying security held by the top-level master fund. The total of the target percentages for the selected underlying securities, each entered as a decimal, must be equal to 1.0. If you create fund of funds targets for an entity that uses the User Defined fund of funds allocation method, you define two target percentages for each underlying fund/security, defining one for a positive cash flow and another for a negative cash flow.
You can create, edit, and delete fund of funds targets. You can also view the current fund of funds targets and their associated history. If you change or delete fund of funds targets, you must select all the current active targets for all the underlying securities for the top-level fund at the same time to ensure that the target percentages are always equal to 100%.
