A corporate action announcement is security reference data that provides relevant and available date and financial information about a security’s corporate action. It also includes information that the Eagle system uses to determine if and when the announcement is eligible for processing. Once the Corporate action announcement is set up, the reference data is entered into the corporate actions history table for processing.

To manually add a corporate action announcement:

  1. In the Reference Desk workspace, in the left navigation pane, click Corporate Actions > Announcements.
You see the left navigation list of Corporate Action Announcements.

  2. From the left Navigation, select the Corporate Action you'd like to add.
The corresponding Corporate Action panel displays.

  3. Complete the options on the corporate action announcement panel and click Submit.
The options include common options that apply to all corporate action announcements, and options specific to the corporate action you selected. See the Common Options for Corporate Action Announcement section below for more information about the common options and click on the appropriate link for options on a specific corporate action.
The system adds the corporate action to the Corporate Action table. You can change a corporate action if it does not have a released status.

  4. If you added a Voluntary Corporate Action announcement, you can identify entities that elected to participate in the corporate action. See Add Voluntary Corporate Action Elections.

  5. If you added a Mandatory Corporate Action announcement, you can set up a mandatory corporate action exclusion to prevent the system from processing a mandatory corporate action for a certain entity. See Add Mandatory Corporate Action Exclusions.
