A legal entity is any domestic or foreign government, corporate or investment trust that is legally responsible for the registering and selling of securities to the financial market for the purpose of financing its operations. It can consist of multiple roles besides an issuer. It offers a representation into its ability to meets its ongoing financial obligations and valuation of the company. In addition, it offers a continuation of ownership through its relationships to other companies.

The Legal Entity Workspace

The Legal Entities workspace is the main area where legal entity data is displayed or edited. Here, you can review legal entities and exceptions, view and edit legal entity details including security role details, relationship information and issuer ratings details. You can also create and delete legal entities, audit manual changes to legal entities and edit overrides.
