Date rules define the dates used in a report. They specify a date range that offsets the effective date of the server that processes the report, and consist of a start date and an end date. Some reports only use one of the dates in the date rule, but some reports, such as the multi period or range reports, use both dates. Complete the following fields on the New Date Rule dialog box:
Option | Description |
What Name do you want for your Date Rule?
| Enter a name for the date rule. |
Type in any comments or remarks
| Enter any comments regarding the rule. |
How do you want your start date?
| In the drop down, select a type of start date: Fixed. Enter the start date for the report. Calculate. Enter an Offset by value to adjust the start date for the report to run for a certain date in the past or the future. For example, if today is January 1st, 2012 and you create a date rule to run report for 15 days prior, thus December 16th, on January 2nd, 2012, the report runs for December 17th. The offset value is -15 and the date type is days. Enter the following values: Fund Inception Date Fund Fiscal Year End Date Fund Fiscal Quarter to Date (Common Date) Fund Fiscal Year to Date (Common Date) Fund Fiscal year to Date (Prior Year) Fund Fiscal Year to Date (Prior Year) Current Business Date
Offset by. Enter an offset value, and select a measurement for the offset value. Adjust to. Restricts the date for which you want to run the report. Enter one of the following values: Week Start Week End Month Start Month End Calendar Year Start Calendar Year End Quarter Begin Quarter End
Additional Offset by. Makes it easier to select a particular day of a month. For example, the current date is March 1st and you want the report to run for January 15th. Leave the first offset with the default value ”0” days, select the option Calendar Year Start for the Adjust to, and enter +14 in the Additional offset by field. The option Calendar Year Start goes to January 1st. Adding 14 days to that gets the report to run for January 15th.

When you select an option other than Fixed in Field 3, you can apply a business calendar to the date calculation. Business calendar use is supported when you select Offset by, Adjust to, and Additional offset by. |
