Use Advanced Report Profiles to select the Advanced Report Rules and specify the entities or clients to include in a report. Also set the settings and values of any options in the report, specify Result Distribution options and assemble a package of reports.

Manage Advanced Report Profiles

You can view existing Report Profiles and copy, edit, or delete them.

To manage the Advanced Report Profiles:

  1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.

  2. Enter General Reporting in the Start Search text box.

  3. Click the General Reporting (Reporting Center) link to access the Reporting Center.
    You see the General Reporting module.

  4. Click the Reports tab.

  5. Expand the Reports folder and click Advanced Reporting.
    You see the Advanced Reporting window, displaying advanced report profiles.

In this section

You can sort advanced report profiles columns in ascending or descending order, including Name, Owner, Date, and Comments. To sort advanced report profiles, click a column header. To reverse the sort order, click the column header again.

Authorized users can manage advanced report profiles using options on the Compose and Submit menus described in the following table.

Creates a new report with the same category and type as the selected report.

Edit

Makes changes to the selected report.

Copy

Copies parameters of the selected advanced report profile and saves the profile under a unique name.

Delete

Deletes the report template. The Delete command is only available to the report owner.

Rename

Assigns a new, unique name to the selected advanced report profile.

Publish

Allows other users to view and use the report design. The Publish command is only available to the report owner.

Transfer Ownership

Allows you to transfer ownership of profiles and rules.

View

Opens the advanced report profile design.

Show History

Shows history of a particular profile, including ID of the user who modified the profile and the date and time when the changes are made.

Usage

Shows the components that use a particular profile.

Find on Page

Searches for an advanced report profile across the required page.

Migration

Imports a report definition.

Submit

Submits the selected advanced report profile for processing.

Submit with Overrides

Submits the report with temporary changes to some or all of the following: effective dates, entities, report rule, field rule, and currency. You may also filter the data. The report is submitted with those changes although the underlying report definition is not changed.

Transfer Ownership

You can transfer ownership for both profiles and rules.

To transfer ownership for both profiles and rules:

  1. From any Eagle window, click the Eagle Navigator button to access the Eagle Navigator.

  2. Enter General Reporting in the Start Search text box.

  3. Click the General Reporting (Reporting Center) link to access the Reporting Center.
    You see the General Reporting module.

  4. Click the Reports tab.

  5. Expand the Reports folder and click Advanced Reporting.

  6. From the Reports or Components tab, select the rule or profile that you want to transfer the ownership.

  7. Right-click and select Transfer Ownership.

  8. In the Transfer Ownership dialog box, select the user from the list and click OK.

  9. In most cases, you cannot transfer the ownership of an Advanced Report Rule unless you own all the underlying components. If you do own the underlying components, you must publish the components to the user that you want to transfer ownership. To do this, click Publish in the Transfer Ownership Status dialog box.

If you do not own the underlying components, you can still transfer ownership of an Advanced Report Profile if the user permission, Publish Other Components via Profile is granted to you in General Reporting.

Create Advanced Report Profiles

Authorized users can create advanced report profiles.

To create an advanced report profile:

  1. From the General Reporting module, in Build Components mode, click the Reports tab.

  2. Expand the Reports folder and click Advanced Reporting.
    You see the Advanced Report Profiles window.

  3. On the toolbar, click Compose, or right-click anywhere on the Reports tab and click New.

  4. Select Advanced Reporting and click Next, or double-click the Double click here to build your Report link.

  5. On the Advanced Report Profile tab, you can set advanced report profile settings, including advanced report rules, entities, and effective date. Right-click the Selected Rules folder and select Add.

    If you edit an advanced report rule to be included in an advanced report profile, the change is universal. All advanced report profiles that use the edited rule are impacted by the changes.

  6. Select the check boxes next to the advanced report rules to be included into the new advanced report profile. To select only your advanced report rules, select the Show my rules only checkbox and click OK.

  7. On the Entities tab, select the entities or clients to be assigned to the advanced report profile.
    To assign the same entities or clients to all advanced report rules and PACE report profiles, first click the Selected Rules folder, and then double-click the entity or client to be added to the profile.
    To add different entities or clients to an advanced report rule or underlying PACE profile, first click the rule or profile, and then double-click the entity or client for that level.
    If you do not select an entity, then the entities specified in the underlying PACE profile are used.

  8. If any of the selected advanced report rules have options assigned, click the Options/Parameters link in the Editing an Advanced Report dialog box to set the option values. On the Options/Parameters dialog box, you can change the position of options by clicking the Up or Down links.
    Advanced Report Profiles are stored in the PACE_MASTER.DBO.ADV_PROFILE_DETAIL and PACE_MASTER.DBO.REPORT_PROFILES tables. The REPORT_PROFILES table contains core report profile data while the ADV_PROFILE_DETAIL table contains information related to the Advanced Report Rules associated with the Advanced Report Profile. If any settings within the underlying PACE profiles are overridden in the Advanced Profile, this information is stored in the PACE_MASTER.DBO.ADV_PROFILE_OVERRIDE table. The PACE_MASTER.DBO.ADV_PROFILE_OPTIONS table contains any associated Options and Option Values.

  9. Under Show All Data Where Effective Date is, select the effective date for which the advanced report should be run.

  10. Click Next.
    You see the Scheduler tab.

  11.  As you set scheduling and report output settings, select Yes, please under Would you like to schedule this report, to set the frequency for running the new advanced report. You can choose to run the report:
    Daily on. Runs the new report on selected weekdays.
    Weekly on. Runs the new report once a week on the selected day.
    Monthly on... Days. Runs the new report once on the specified day of month.
    Every ... Minutes. Runs the new report every specified period of time.
    Use Business Calendar With Source. Select this option to use the Business Calendar with a particular Source.

  12. Set the time for running the advanced report.
    In the Between and And fields, set the time period when to run the report.
    In the Cycle Starts at field, set the time for starting the report running cycle.
    Click the Use Default Time Zone as on the Server link to select a time zone that is the same as that on the server.

  13. Click Dependency...   to make running the report dependent on other events.

  14. Click Options to specify the report output options, such as emailing the report results, sending results to the Eagle Portal, publishing the report results, and auto printing.

  15. Select Override Imaging timeout and enter a timeout setting in seconds. The value you enter overrides the value set at the system level. Overriding the value allows bigger and slower reports more processing time without applying the larger setting to all reports. This saves processing time.

  16. Click Next.
    You see the Report Definition tab.

14.  Under What Name do you want for your report, enter a unique name of the new advanced report.

15.  Under Type in any comments or remarks you wish, type a description of the new advanced report.

16.  Under Do you want to submit the report now?, select one of the options:
Yes, please. Submits the new report now.
No, thank you. Submits the report right after it is created.

17.  Click Finish to save the new advanced report on the Advanced Report Profiles window.

Date Rules

You set up date rules in Report Profiles, and use them to dynamically generate the date parameters for a report. Using a date rule, you can specify a date range with a start and end date that offsets the effective date of the server that processes the report. Many reports only use one of the dates when you apply the date rule to them. But some reports, such as the multi period or range reports, use both dates. The date rule works by tracking an effective date and applying two offsets to that date.The first offset is used for the start date, and the second is used for the end date. The date rule specifies which date to use for reports that require only one date.

A common date rule is the Previous Month Rule. This is a rule that allows you to always run a report using start and end effective days from the previous month. If today is May 28, and you run a range report using the Previous Month Date Rule, then the effective dates used will be April 1 (start date) and April 30 (end date).

The following table describes PACE internal date rules that are installed with the software.

Effective Date Option

Description

Today

Uses today’s date as the effective date for each entity within the report. If this rule is applied to a report that requires two dates, the date becomes the start date and end date for the report.

Yesterday

Uses yesterday’s date as the effective date for each entity within the report. If this rule is applied to a report that requires two dates, the date becomes the start date and end date for the report.

Current Month

Uses the first and last days of the current month based on the server’s system date and applies those dates to each entity. If the report to which this rule is applied only requires one date to run, the end date is used as the effective date.

Previous Month

Uses the first and last days of the prior month based on the server’s system date and applies those dates to each entity. If the report only requires one date to run, the end date is used as the effective date.

As of

Use this choice to enter a specific effective date or range of effective dates. To use this option, click the date rule selected in blue. A dropdown menu appears.

Select Asof. Then, enter a date, or click >> to choose from the list of dates for which data exists for the entities.

Between

Allows you to view all data where Effective Date is the date period set in the Between and And fields.

From the Date Rule

Allows you to choose from a list of user defined date rules.

Current Day

Uses the most recent date in the system for each individual entity within the report. If this rule is applied to a report that requires two dates, the current date becomes the start date and the end date for the report.

As of Date Rule

Submits one As Of date to the underlying OLAP report when using Force Dates. This option evaluates the date rule and only submits one of the start/end dates to the underlying OLAP when using Force Dates. The date that gets passed to the report depends on the What date do you want to use in functions where a single date is required? setting in the date rule definition. If you selected Start date, the report passes the start date, and if you selected End date, the report passed the end date.

Selecting Dates

The Advanced Report Profile date selection function includes options for As of (a specific date), Between (two specific dates), From the Date Rule, Current Day, As of Date Rule, Today, Yesterday, Current Month and Previous Month.

Set Advanced Report Profile Overrides

You can select and save PACE Report profile override settings in an Advanced Report profile. You can drill through the selected Advanced Report Rules in an Advanced Report profile, select the underlying PACE profile, right-click, and select Set Overrides for that PACE profile.

The Set Overrides feature allows the date, Field Rule, Report Rule, Currency and Filter settings in the PACE profile to be overridden. These settings will apply only to the selected Advanced Report profile, and do not impact the PACE Report profile itself.

The Entity selector is hidden from the override function, since the first screen of the Advanced Report profile edit session serves the same purpose.

The Advanced Report Profile override feature allows fewer PACE Report profiles to be maintained in PACE to support Advanced Reporting. For example, a single PACE profile can be used by two separate Advanced Reports run for different currencies in each Advanced Report.

Override Dates and Date Rules

Selecting a date or date rule from the Set Overrides window instructs the Advanced Reporting engine to submit the underlying concentration report for the selected date, no matter what the date setting is in the standard PACE profile.

Selecting a Report Rule or Field Rule from the Set Overrides window instructs the Advanced Reporting engine to submit the underlying concentration report for the selected Rules, no matter what Rule is selected in the standard PACE profile. You can select either rule override from this window. An override is not required.

Override Currency and FX Rates

Selecting a Currency and FX Rate from the Set Overrides window instructs the Advanced Reporting engine to submit the underlying concentration report for the selected Currency and FX Rate, no matter what the setting are in the standard PACE profile. Changing these settings in the Set Overrides function does not directly change the standard PACE profile. It only affects the way the report is submitted as part of the current Advanced Report.

Manage Entities

Authorized users can manage entities assigned to the advanced report profiles, including loading, filtering, clearing, info, adding, removing, and configuring entities, as described in the following table.

Load

Loads all existing entities after clearing filter criteria.

Filter

Filters entities by one of the following criteria, including Predefined Filter, Entity Type, Entity ID, and Entity Name. When any of the filters is being applied to entities, the Filter link is marked with an asterisk.

Allows you to create, edit and delete Predefined Filters.

Clear

Clears the filter currently applied to entities.

Info

Shows information on the selected entity, including Entity Name, Entity ID, Type, Long Name, Legal Name, Update User, and Update Date.

Add

Adds one or more entities to advanced report rules:

  • To add the same entities to all advanced report rules in an advanced report, click the Selected Rules folder, select the entities to add, and click Add.

  • To add different entities to each advanced report rule in an advanced report, first, click an advanced report rule, select the entity to add for the rule, and then click Add.

Remove

Removes one or more entities from the advanced report rules:

  • To remove the same set of entities from all advanced report rules in an advanced report, click the Selected Rules folder, press Ctrl + C to select the entities to remove, and then click Remove.

  • To remove entities from different advanced report rules within an advanced report, click an advanced report rule, select the entities to be remove, and then click Remove.

Configure

Allows you to configure the set of columns to be displayed on the Entities tab in the Editing an Advanced Report dialog box, and manage the columns’ display and sort order.

Edit Advanced Report Profiles

Authorized users can edit advanced report profiles.

To edit an advanced report profile:

  1. Open the Advanced Report Profiles window.

  2. Right-click an advanced report and select Edit.
    You see the Editing an Advanced Report dialog box.

  3. Make any changes to the advanced report parameters.

  4. Click Finish to save your changes.

Copy an Advanced Report Profile

Authorized users can copy parameters of the selected advanced report profile and then save the advanced report with a new name.

To copy an advanced report profile:

  1. Open the Advanced Report Profiles window.

  2. Right-click a profile and select Copy.
    You see the Copy Profile dialog box.

  3. In the Copy as field, type a name for the new profile.

  4. Click OK to save the new profile on the Advanced Reports window.
    The new advanced report profile appears on the Advanced Report Profiles window.

Copy an Advanced Report Profile, Rule and DLL

To copy an advanced report profile, rule and DLL together:

  1. Right-click an Advanced report profile in Pace Reporting and select Copy.
    You see the Copy Profile dialog box.

  2. Select the Copy Underlying Rules/Dlls checkbox and click OK.
    You see the Copy Profile dialog box.

  3. Enter a name for the copied profile in the Copy as field. You must enter a new name to create a new profile.

  4. Select the Copy Underlying Rules/DLL checkbox. You must rename every rule to create new rule for the new profile. Underlying components of each rule are still used by the rule without you having to copy or rename them. You decide on an individual basis to rename each DLL. Each DLL you rename results in a new DLL which is copied to the drop off folder. The set of selected DLLs are included in the renamed rules.

  5. The Copy From column in the grid lists each of profile’s underlying rules and dlls. In the Copy To column, enter new names for copied versions of the rules and dlls.

  6. Click OK to save your changes.

Overwrite a Report Profile

You can overwrite a report profile in Advanced reporting. Overwriting a profile does not change the names of a profile or any of its rules.

To overwrite a report profile:

  1. Select an advanced report profile and right click. Select Overwrite from the right click menu.
    You see the Overwrite Profile dialog box.

  2. From the Overwrite with drop down menu, select the profile to overwrite with.
    After you select the profile to overwrite with, all the rules in the existing profile are displayed in the first column. The second column provides a drop down with all the rules available for you to overwrite with.

  3. Select a rule from the second column for each rule in the first column, and then select OK.

Work with Overwritten Profiles

After you overwrite a profile:

  • The profile keeps its original name.

  • If the profile has one or more rules:

    • Every rule in the overwritten profile keeps its original name.

    • Every rule in the overwritten profile has its content replaced, including DLL and other components, by the content of a rule in the replacing profile.

    • You select a rule in the replacing profile to replace a rule in the overwritten profile via a drop down menu. You can select any unselected rule from the replacing profile.

  • Every overwritten rule has a DLL. That rule keeps its name, but is replaced by the DLL of the selected rule from the replacing profile.

  • If the overwritten profile has more rules than the replacing profile, you must select the extra rules to be dropped from the overwritten profile. Or, you can use Edit to remove rules from the overwritten profile before using Overwrite.

  • If the overwritten profile has fewer rules than the replacing profile, you must select the extra rules from the replacing profile and give them a new name in the overwritten profile.

The following example contains overwritten and replacing profiles with the same number of rules. In this example, you selected a profile name from the drop down menu. Then, the drop down menu displayed all the rules for the replacing profile that were not yet selected. You selected a rule from the replacing profile for each of the rules in the overwritten profile.

As a result, Profile A has the definition of Profile B, Rule1 has the definition of Rule3, and Rule2 has the definition of Rule4.

The next example shows a replacing profile that contains fewer rules than the overwritten profile. In this example, the drop down menu displayed all rules for the replacing profile that were not yet selected, you picked a rule from the replacing profile. If all available rules from the replacing profile were picked, then < This Rule will be removed > was mapped to all remaining rules of the overwritten profile. If you selected Rule3 to replace Rule1, then automatically choose < This Rule will be removed > was mapped for Rule2.

As a result, Profile1 has the definition of Profile2, Rule1 has the definition of Rule3, and Rule2 is dropped.

The following example shows a replacing profile with more rules than an overwritten profile. In this example, the drop down menu displays all the rules for the profile you selected to replace. You selected a rule to replace. If you selected a rule no match in the overwritten profile, you must provide a new name for the rule.

As a result, Profile1 has the definition of Profile2, Rule1 has the definition of Rule2, and a new rule was created with the content of Rule3, with the names you provided for the rule and its DLL.

Delete an Advanced Report Profile

Owners of advanced report profiles can delete one or more of their profiles.

To delete one or more of your advanced report profiles:

  1. Open the Advanced Report Profiles window.

  2. Right-click the advanced report profile to delete, and select Delete. To select more than one advanced report profile, press Ctrl+Click.
    You see a confirmation dialog box, asking you to confirm deleting the profiles.

  3. Click Yes to delete the selected advanced report profiles.

Override Report and Field Rules

You can select a Report Rule or Field Rule for an Advanced Report Profile that instructs the Advanced Reporting engine to submit the underlying concentration report for the selected rules, and ignore the rule selected in the standard PACE profile. You can also access Submit with Override from the Results window.

To override Report or Field Rules:

  1. Open the Advanced Report Profile window.

  2. Right-click the profile to submit with overrides and select Submit With Overrides.
    You see the Submit With Overrides dialog box.

  3. Click the Select the Report Rule and Field Rule tab.

  4. Select the Report Rule or Field Rule to override.

  5. Click OK to submit the advanced report profile with overrides.

Override Currency and FX Rates

You can select Currency and FX Rates to instruct the Advanced Reporting engine to submit the underlying concentration report for the selected Currency and FX Rates, and ignore the settings in the standard PACE profile.

To override Currency and FX Rates:

  1. Open the Advanced Report Profile window.

  2. Right-click the profile to submit with overrides, and select Submit With Overrides.
    You see the Submit With Overrides dialog box.

  3. Click the Select the Currency tab.
    You see the Currency Tab dialog box.

  4. In the Convert each entity’s base currency to section, specify the First and Second Alternative Currency.

  5. In the How would you like to fetch your foreign exchange rates section, select whether to fetch FX rates using effective date or the specified time period.

  6. Click OK to submit the advanced report profile with Currency and FX Rates overrides.

Sort Advanced Report Options

You can sort advanced report options assigned to the advanced report rules in a particular advanced report profile.

To sort advanced report options:

  1. On the Advanced Report Profiles window, double-click an advanced report profile.
    You see the Editing an Advanced Report dialog box.

  2. Click Options/Parameters....
    You see the Options/Parameters dialog box, displaying all options assigned to rules of the advanced report profile. Text for shared options is displayed in blue.

  3. Complete the options on the Options/Parameters dialog box.

  4. To change the options display order, select an option and click Up or Down to move the selected option up or down in the list.

  5. To sort advanced report options in ascending or descending order, click a column header. To reverse the sorting order, click the column header again.

  6. Click the ellipsis (...) in the File Type, Font, or Color row to access the corresponding dialog box.

  7. Click Finish to save your changes.

Publish the Report Design

You can publish a report design so that other users can copy, view, or submit it. A report can be published during or after the design phase.

Publish a Report During the Design Phase

You can publish a report to various groups and users during the design phase of the advanced report profile. When you publish an advanced report, depending on user security settings, other users can copy, view, or submit the report design.

To publish a report during the design phase:

  1. On the Creating an Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. On the Scheduler tab, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. Select the Publish This Report to Various Groups and Users check box.
    You see the Publish Profile dialog box.

  4. In the Publish Profile tree, click:
    The Users folder to select the users you want to publish the advanced report profile to. Click the Publish Results check box to publish results of the advanced report processing to the selected users.
    The Groups folder to select the business groups you want to publish the advanced report profile to. Click the Publish Results check box to publish results of the advanced report processing to the selected business groups.

  5. Select the Publish to Underlying Groups too While Publishing to Compound Groups check box to publish the advanced report profile to all underlying regular and compound groups.

  6. Click OK.
    You see the Eagle PACE dialog box, informing you that other users now have only read access to this report profile.
    The advanced report design and report results are published to the selected users and business groups.

Publish a Report Design After the Design Phase

You can publish an advanced report design to other users or business groups after you create the report. Compound business group users can see advanced report profiles owned by or published to the regular business groups that are assigned to their compound business group, as well as advanced report profiles that are directly published to the compound business group.

To publish an advanced report profile and results of processing the profile to users or groups:

  1. Open the Advanced Report Profiles window.

  2. Right-click the profile to publish and select Publish.
    You see the Publish Profile dialog box.

  3. Complete steps 4-6 in the section Publishing Report During the Design Phase.

View Publish Status

Users or groups to whom you published the report design may not have access to the profiles underlying components, such as Report Rules, Report Profiles, Fields, Source Rules, Field Rules, and Simple Group Rules. The Publish Status dialog box displays inaccessible underlying components.

To automatically publish each underlying component of the current profile, click Publish.

Restrict Profile Publishing

You can restrict a published report design so that other users can no longer access it.

To restrict a published profile design:

  1. Open the Advanced Report Profile window.

  2. Right-click the profile to restrict from publishing and select Publish/Restrict....
    You see the Publish/Restrict Profile dialog box.

  3. You can:
    Click Restrict the Report Profile and its Underlying Components to restrict report and its components from being published to the selected users or groups.
    Click Restrict the Report Profile to restrict only the report profile from being published to the selected users or groups.

  4. Click OK to save your changes.

Auto-Create Advanced Reports

You can automatically create an advanced report from a standard PACE report profile. For additional information refer to Create an Advanced Report With the Designer Wizard.

To automatically create an Advanced Report:

  1. In the Creating a Report wizard, go to the Step 3 of 3.

  2. In the Would You Like to Create Advanced Report Components With the Current Profile section, select an option to create an advanced report rule and an advanced report profile, both linked to the PACE report profile:
    Yes, please. Select to create an Advanced Report Rule and Advanced Report Profile based on the PACE Report Profile.
    Yes, please and also let me edit the advanced report profile. Select to create both Advanced Report components and edit the Advanced Report Profile.
    Yes, please and also let me design the advanced report. Select to create both Advanced Report components and the report’s design.
    No, thank you. Select to not create Advanced Report components with the current Profile. This option is selected by default.

  3. Click Finish to save the new report.
    The new advanced report rule is, by default, associated with the selected PACE profile, and the name of the advanced rule defaults to the PACE profile name, appended with _Adv_Rule. The name of the Target Table defaults to adv_table. You can edit both of these names. Since there is no imaging project or designer assigned to the advanced rule in the setting available reports, you can select one. You can also add Options, Contact Types, and dynamic Page Numbering values to the Advanced Report Rule.
    The advanced report profile, by default, has an advanced report rule created that is automatically assigned to it. You can also add other advanced rules to the advanced report profile. The name of the Advanced Profile defaults to the name of the selected PACE profile, appended with _ADV_Prof. You can rename the advanced report profile. No other advanced report settings are defined by default, but you can define all settings.
    The Auto Create Advanced Report feature recognizes the Advanced Reporting user security settings. If you have permission to create both Advanced Report Rules and Profiles, you can use the Auto Create feature. If you only have permission to create Advanced Report Rules and Profiles but do not have permission to edit either component, you cannot edit components created by the Auto Create feature.

Customizing Report Location on the Server

The Custom Archive Rules archives the report results to a folder location on the server.

The default location is set up during installation or upgrade. The Default archive rule is used by all reports at run time. If the Default rule is configured, you do not have to choose an archive rule when submitting reports. This rule is automatically used as the storage location. The Default archive rule is identified as instance number one in the PACE_MASTERDBO.CUSTOM_ARCHIVE_RULES table. If you want to use a rule other than Default, select the rule when creating the report.

To customize report location on the server:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. From the Customize My Report Location on the Server drop-down list, select the server on which to locate the report. By default, the Customize my Report Location on the Server option is set to None.

  4. Click OK to customize the report location on the server.

Place Report in Personal Folder

You can set up personal folders in PACE. These folders are in addition to default folders that appear in all of the tabs. These folders only appear for the individual who created them.

To place a report in a Personal folder:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. Select the Place This Report in a Personal Folder check box and click the ellipsis (...).
    You see the Personal Folders dialog box, displaying your personal folders.

  4. Select the folder in which to place the report and click OK.
    The report is saved in the selected folder. Each time you submit the report, it appears in the Personal folder along with the Report Category and Most Recent folders.

Place Reports in Public Folders

You can set up Public folders in PACE. These folders are in addition to the default folders that appear within all of the tabs. All users can view and set a hierarchy for Public folders.

Each time a published report is saved, it appears in this folder in addition to the Report Category and Most Recent folders. You must save your report design for reports in Public Folders to become available.

To place an advanced report profile in a Public folder:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. Select the Place This Report in a Public Folder check box.
    You see the Public Folders dialog box, displaying any public folders.

  4. Select the folder where you want to place the advanced report profile and click OK.
    The advanced report profile is placed in the specified public folder.

Return No Result when Submitted

If you do not want to receive results when the report is submitted, complete the following procedure.

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. Select the Do Not Return the Result When Submitted check box.

  4. Click OK.
    Now, when you submit an advanced report profile, no results are sent to you.

Discard OLAP Report Tables

The Discard OLAP Report tables after imaging option instructs the Advanced Reporting engine to delete the data from the OLAP Report Results from the ADV file and only store the image within the file. This allows for faster retrieval and download of the image when viewing the report from the Results tab in PACE Reporting or from the Batch Details window in Client Reporting. When the viewer is used to save the report results in .MDB format for troubleshooting or research, the OLAP Report results are not the part of the .MDB file.

 To discard OLAP report tables:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. Select the Discard Olap Report Tables After Imaging check box.

  4. Click OK to discard OLAP report tables.

Advanced Report Profile Distribution Options

There are different ways you can distribute PACE reports, including email, Portal, printer, or saving as a file to the specified location. Use the Report Options dialog box to select a distribution option.

Report Result Distribution Option

To set report result distribution options, select Results > Editing an Advanced Report > Scheduler > Report Options > Distribution Options.

Send Results as an E-mail

You can send report results via e-mail. Before e-mailing report results, you have to configure the PACE server. In the configure section of the PACE Manager, set the Mail Profile Name to the Exchange server profile. You can only configure this from the server machine, not remotely.

You can also configure the name of the file attachment sent in the e-mail to each recipient of the report results. 

To distribute an advanced report profile by e-mail:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. In the Distribution Options section, select the Send the Result as an email check box and click the ellipsis (...)
    You see the Specify Email Options dialog box.

  4. Click Contacts....
    You see the Email dialog box.

  5. Type the recipient's name and email address.

  6. Click Add.
    The recipient’s name appears under the Email Address field. You can type the name and email address of any additional recipients.

  7. Click OK.

  8. Select the file format in which each of the recipients receives the report.
    The File Format information is stored in the PACE_MASTER.DBO. RPT_PROFILE_EMAIL table. The FILE_FORMAT column stores this data. The attachment file name is stored within the USER_DATA column of the PACE_MASTER.DBO.REPORT_PROFILES table. In the Attachment File Name field, specify the name of the file attachment to be included in the email.

  9. Click OK to save your changes.  

Send the Results to Portal

You can send report results to the Portal in PDF, XLS, MHT, or ERX format.

To send the report result to Portal:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. In the Distribution Options section, select the Send the Result to Portal check box.
    You see the Send to Portal dialog box.

  4. In the Formats section, select a file format.
    The ADVZ format is not supported in the Portal. You can open and view Eagle Report Exchange (ERX) files within the Portal after downloading the PACE Viewer component.

  5. From the Category drop-down list, select the report category.

  6. From the Frequency drop-down list, select the frequency at which to send the report.

  7. Select the Overwrite Existing Reports check box to overwrite any reports.

  8. Click OK to send the report to Portal.

Save Results as a File

Use the Save Result as a File feature to apply an archive rule to the report result, and save it as a file to the specified location in one of the formats, including PDF, ADVZ, XLS, MHT, and ERX. You can use the Save Result as a File option with the existing archive feature, located in the Customize my Report section on the server setting in the Report Options window. Both options can be used together to generate and archive a file in the specified location.

To send the results as a file:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. Select the Save the Result as File check box, and click the ellipsis (...).
    You see the Save the Result as File dialog box.

  4. In the File Format section, select the format of the file.

  5. From the File Location drop-down list, select an archive rule to be applied to the result file.

  6. Click OK to save your changes.

Send Results to a Printer

You can automatically send a request to the printer from the server each time an advanced report is submitted.

To send the results to a printer:

  1. On the Creating Advanced Report dialog box, click the Scheduler tab.

  2. In the Specify your Report options by clicking on the button below section, click Options.
    You see the Report Options dialog box.

  3. In the Distribution Options section, select the Send the Result to Printer check box.
    You see the Select a Printer dialog box.

  4. Select the printer where you want to send the results.

  5. Click OK.

Distribution Limitations

You cannot publish an advanced report profile to users or groups and send the report to Portal at the same time. Select either Publish the Report To Various Groups and Users option or the Send the Report To Portal option. You cannot select both these options at once.

Report Options Limitations

Failed Report Distribution

Completed Advanced reports set up to be sent as an e-mail are not sent if the report fails during processing. The report that fail continues to be returned to the PACE Client.

View Advanced Report Status

The Report Status section, at the bottom of the Advanced Reporting main window, displays all the reports being processed now or by the server. Each report is automatically cleared two weeks after it is submitted. Each report displays a status of Running, Completed, or Failed.

In the Advanced Report Status area use the options in the following table:

Provides the log number of the log file on the server which contains report running details.

Searches for a specific report within the queue.

Refreshes the report queue view.

View Today’s Items

Filters events in the queue to show today’s items.

View all Items

Display all events from the previous two weeks.

You can sort data in the Report Status area by columns in ascending or descending order. Click the column heading by to sort data. Click again to reverse the sort order.
