Multilingual entity and security text are reported with the same field attributes as used when reporting English text from the same fields. You do not have to develop a separate set of field attributes for each language you support.

However, you must select Wide Character as the Field Type. A Wide Character field, when reported using a non-English language selection in an OLAP report profile or a Data Mart model, looks to the appropriate _ML table for its data. Wide Character Field Type shows a field attribute against ENTITY_NAME that looks for data from ENTITY_ML or ENTITY_ML_HIST when local-language reporting is enabled.

The Wide Character Field Type is also required for an entity or security field attribute that has a local-language translation of a code value, or is a rollup or inference field based upon such a field.

To configure field type for multilingual text:

  1. In Reporting Center, from the left navigation, select Data Management Reports > OLAP Reporting > General Reporting.
You see the General Reporting workspace.
  2. In the Components tab, expand Fields and select Entity or Security folder.
You see the fields for the respective type gets listed.
  3. Right-click on the field and select Edit.
You see the Editing Regular Field dialog box.
  4. In the Field Type list, set the field type as Wild Character.
  5. Click OK to save the changes.
