The PDC workspace allows you to execute bulk updates on multiple entities. You can use the Bulk Update option to perform the same action on multiple entities at the same time. To perform the bulk update, you have to identify the entities and select them collectively.

PDC allows you to perform Bulk Updates for the following features:

  1. To override field values.

  2. To release exceptions.

  3. To manage authorizations.

  4. To assign benchmarks.

  5. To assign peer groups.

Override Field Values

In PDC workspace, you can perform bulk updates to override field values of multiple entities.

To perform bulk update to override field values:

  1. In Portfolio Data Center, from the left navigation, select Portfolio Desk and click the appropriate entity type.
    You see the Summary workspace of the selected entity type.

  2. Provide details about the entities for which you want to override the field values in the search criteria and then click Search.
    You see the list of entities that meet the search criteria.

  3. Select more than one entity to perform bulk update.
    Use the CTRL key to select multiple entities.

  4. On the Home tab, in the Actions group, click Bulk Update and select Field Overrides.
    You see the Bulk Updates - Fields dialog box with All Fields tab enabled.

  5. In the Date box, specify an effective date as on which you want to apply field override values for the selected entities.

  6. Click Apply Filter.
    You see the list of selected entities with the respective field values.

  7. Select the Entity ID checkbox respective to the field for which you want to apply overrides.
    You can select more than one fields to apply overrides.

  8. Click Next.
    You see the Selected Fields tab with the selected fields for overrides.

  9. Click the New Value column for each field to apply overrides.
    You see the Edit dialog box.

  10. Set the required value for the field in the New Value box.

  11. Otherwise, if you want to set the new value as NULL, select Make this NULL check box.

  12. By default, the Type list displays the Override option.
    Override indicates the new value will take priority over the previous value or any incoming values for this field. 

  13. Select the Start Date and End Date for the new value.

  14. Select the No End Date check box, if the override is set indefinitely.

  15. From the Reason Code list, select the type of reason for the override. 

  16. Type the notes in the Comment box, if needed.

  17. Click Update All to update the field override value for all the selected entities.

  18. Click Save to save the changes.
    You see the override value is added in the New Value column.

  19. You follow the same procedure for other entity fields, if selected.

  20. Click Save & Close to save the changes.
    You see a message stating successful updation of bulk changes. 

Release Exceptions

In the PDC workspace, you can execute bulk updates to release exceptions. If you are doing a bulk update for a specific exception code, only the specified field is updated and all the entities are re-validated.

To perform bulk updates to release exceptions:

  1. In Portfolio Data Center, from the left navigation, select Portfolio Desk and click the appropriate entity type.
    You see the Summary workspace of the selected entity type.

  2. Click the View By drop-down list and then select Exceptions.

  3. Provide details about the entities for which you want to release the exceptions in the search criteria and then click Search.
    You see the list of entities that meet the search criteria.

  4. Select more than one entity to resolve the exceptions. 
    Use the CTRL key to select multiple entities.

  5. On the Home tab, in the Actions group, click Bulk Update and select Release Exceptions.
    You see the Bulk Updates - Exceptions dialog box with the list of selected entities and their respective exceptions.

  6. In the Date box, specify an effective date as on which you want to release exceptions for the selected entities.

  7. Click Apply Filter.
    You see the list of selected entities with the respective exceptions.

  8. Select the Entity ID checkbox respective to the exception code for which you want to perform the release.
    You can select more than one exceptions to release at a time.

  9.  Click Save to release the exceptions.
    You see a message stating successful release of the exceptions. 

Manage Authorizations

In the PDC workspace, you can perform bulk authorization updates to the data override fields. You can manage the manual edit to data, which require authorization before you release them to the Eagle data warehouse. 

You can either authorize or reject the changes.

To perform bulk updates to pending authorizations:

  1. In Portfolio Data Center, from the left navigation, select Portfolio Desk and click the appropriate entity type.
    You see the Summary workspace of the selected entity type.

  2. Provide details about the entities for which authorization is required in the search criteria and then click Search.
    You see the list of entities that meet the search criteria.

  3. Select more than one entity to perform pending authorization. 
    Use the CTRL key to select multiple entities.

  4. On the Home tab, in the Actions group, click Bulk Update and select Authorization.
    You see the Bulk Updates - Authorizations dialog box.

  5. In the Date box, specify an effective date as on which you want to provide authorization for the selected entities.

  6. Click Apply Filter.
    You see the list of selected entities with the respective pending authorization fields.

  7. Select the Entity ID checkbox respective to the data override for which you want to perform the authorization.
    You can select more than one pending authorizations at a time.

  8. Click Authorize to authorize the data override of the field value.
    You see the system changes the Authorization status from Require Approval to Authorized.

  9. Click Reject to reject the data override of the field value.
    You see the system changes the Authorization status from Require Approval to Rejected.

  10. Click Save to save the changes.
    You see a message stating successful updation of the authorization. 

Assign Benchmarks

In the PDC workspace, you can perform bulk assignments of benchmarks to multiple entities.

To perform bulk updates to assign benchmarks:

  1. In Portfolio Data Center, from the left navigation, select Portfolio Desk and click the appropriate entity type.
    You see the Summary workspace of the selected entity type.

  2. Provide details about the entities for which you want to assign/reassign benchmarks in the search criteria and then click Search.
    You see the list of entities that meet the search criteria.

  3. Select more than one entity to perform benchmark assignments. 
    Use the CTRL key to select multiple entities.

  4. On the Home tab, in the Actions group, click Bulk Update and select Benchmark Assignments.
    You see the Bulk Updates - Benchmarks dialog box.

  5. In the Date box, specify an effective date as on which the benchmark assignments comes into effect for the selected entities.

  6. Click Apply Filter.
    You see the list of benchmarks assigned to the selected entities with respect to the Benchmark types.

  7. Right-click on the data column and select Edit.
    You see the Edit Benchmark Assignments dialog box.

  8. In the Date section, select Change value to specific date option to assign the benchmark for the specified date.

  9. Select Change value for a date range option to assign the benchmarks for the specified date range.

  10. Click the Benchmark Name list to select a benchmark for each benchmark classification, as needed.
    By default, you see the list of all the available benchmarks.

  11. Select the Process Across Changes check box to link the benchmark history across the benchmark changes for each benchmark classification, as needed.

  12. Click Delete to remove the Benchmark classification, as needed.

  13. Click Update All to update the assigned benchmarks for all the selected entities.

  14. Click Save to save the changes.
    You see a message stating successful updation of the benchmark assignments.

Assign Peer Groups

In the PDC workspace, you can perform bulk assignments of peer groups to multiple entities.

To perform bulk updates to assign peer groups:

  1. In Portfolio Data Center, from the left navigation, select Portfolio Desk and click the appropriate entity type.
    You see the Summary workspace of the selected entity type.

  2. Provide details about the entities for which you want to assign/reassign peer groups in the search criteria and then click Search.
    You see the list of entities that meet the search criteria.

  3. Select more than one entity to perform peer group assignments. 
    Use the CTRL key to select multiple entities.

  4. On the Home tab, in the Actions group, click Bulk Update and select Peer Group Assignments.
    You see the Bulk Updates - Peer Groups dialog box.

  5. In the Date box, specify an effective date as on which the peer group assignments comes into effect for the selected entities.

  6. Click Apply Filter.
    You see the list of peer groups assigned to the selected entities with respect to the Peer Group classification.

  7. Right-click on the data column and select Edit.
    You see the Edit Peer Group Associations dialog box.

  8. In the Date section, select Change value to specific date option to assign the peer groups for the specified date.

  9. Select Change value for a date range option to assign the peer groups for the specified date range.

  10. Click the Peer Group Name list to select a peer group for each peer group classification, as needed.
    By default, you see the list of all the available peer groups.

  11. Select the Process Across Changes check box to link the peer group history across the peer group changes for each peer group classification, as needed.

  12. Click Delete to remove the Peer Group classification, as needed.

  13. Click Update All to update the assigned peer groups for all the selected entities.

  14. Click Save to save the changes.
    You see a message stating successful updation of the peer group assignments.
