In Automation Center's Automation Desk area, you can manage the definition, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting for the following processes:

  • Events. An event is a single process or a unit of work that may run by itself or as part of a job. Events are managed in the Events workspace.
  • Jobs. A job is a group of events or other jobs that may be run in sequential or parallel order. Jobs also provide decision making capabilities. Depending on the outcome of an individual events or a group of events, a job has an option to proceed differently upon success or failure. Jobs are managed in the Jobs workspace.

In Automation Desk, you can:

  • Manage and schedule events
  • Manage and schedule jobs
  • Manage, test, and run message streams that extract, transform, and load data from multiple file formats into and out of Eagle databases
  • Submit events and jobs ad hoc
  • Create SLAs
  • Migrate events, jobs, schedules, and SLAs
  • Monitor the status of events and jobs
  • Monitor the status of message streams and reprocess failed messages
  • Monitor the status of Eagle Job Management (EJM) processes that facilitate communication and data exchange between Eagle and third parties
  • Monitor loopbacks
  • Manage exceptions and resolve exceptions with action rules
