In the Add Cash Contribution panel, you can post a cash receivable for any local currency and indicate whether to settle the cash contribution automatically or manually.

Post a Cash Contribution

To post a cash contribution:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Transactions Cash > Contributions & Withdrawals > Add Cash Contribution.
    You see the Add Cash Contribution panel.
  2. Complete the options on the Add Cash Contribution panel.
  3. Click Submit.

The following example shows data you enter in the Add Cash Contribution panel.

You can enter all the relevant information needed to post a cash contribution to a portfolio. The panel fields include Entity ID, Contribution Date, Contribution Currency (that is, local currency of the transaction), Local Net Amount (in this case $555.00 USD), and Settlement Date.

The Settle Trade Indicator field, identified in the figure, can be set to a value of either Yes or No. If you select Yes, the transaction is auto settled. If you select No, the transaction has to be manually settled or picked up by the Contract Cash event that can be scheduled.

View Contribution Results in the Cash Journal

After you submit the Add Cash Contribution panel, you can view the processed cash activity using the Cash Journal report.

In the following example, when you set up the Cash Journal report, you select these options to query the cash activity.

Cash Contributions 

After you click Submit, the report request is submitted. The report results display on your desktop for the view selected. 

Note that the Transaction column value displays CONTRIBUTION.
