From the Message Streams workspace, you can access and modify data formatting files (MCE files) used by message streams to transform and prepare data for loading. Reviewing and modifying data formatting files may be useful when troubleshooting message stream issues.

You can access MCE files from the Message Streams workspace and from the Monitor workspace.


To view and modify data formatting files:

  1. In Automation Desk, in the left navigation pane, click Monitor>Message Streams.
  2. To access data formatting files from the Message Streams workspace, click the message stream and click Open MCE File on the ribbon.
  3. To access data formatting files from the Jobs/Events area of the Monitor workspace, from the left navigation select Monitor> Jobs/Events. Click to select the message stream, click a row in the first bottom left pane and click Open MCE File on the ribbon.
  4. From the Open MCE File drop down, select Ruleset.
    You see the Eagle Message Center Editor window with the Summary Information view as the default.
  5. Make any changes and click Save. To return to Automation Center, click the Eagle icon in your desktop's status bar.
  6. From the Open MCE File drop down, select Query Event Rule.

  7. Make any changes and click Save. To return to Automation Center, click the Eagle icon in your desktop's status bar.
  8. From the Open MCE File drop down, select Validation Rule.
    You see the Eagle Message Center Editor window with the Summary Information view as the default.
  9. Make any changes and click Save. To return to Automation Center, click the Eagle icon in your desktop's status bar.
  10. From the Open MCE File drop down, select Rule.
    You see the Eagle Message Center Editor window with the Summary Information view as the default.
  11. Make any changes and click Save. To return to Automation Center, click the Eagle icon in your desktop's status bar.
