To schedule a processing rule in Automation Center, you must first create an entry profile. After creating the profile, you then define an event to schedule it.
- Open Panel. There are multiple ways to open a panel (Web Panel Designer, Accounting Center, Portfolio Data Center, etc).I chose to use Portfolio Data Center (PDC). Click on Open Panel button on the Ribbon.
- Search for “applyexceptionrule” panel. The panel can be found under eagle/star/admin.
The full panel path: /eagle/star/admin/pan-applyexceptionrule.htm. - Double click on pan_applyexceptionrule.htm to open
- When it opens, look up the archive Processing Rule
...
- you created
- Make sure to check options for running rule and apply rule to All Rejections is recommended when you run an archive, but you can select from other options available to you in the dropdown. If you have multiple partitions, you can select them in the Partition dropdown. You can later test the rule to validate that it archives the expected number of exceptions. I included test archive rule details in item #17.
- Click Save Profile As and then enter a Profile Name
- Check the publish this profile to all users if you want this profile visible to all users.
- Click Save.
You see a confirmation message indicating that the profile has been successfully saved.
Create an Event
After you create the profile, you need to create a new Accounting Event Manager event.
To create a new event:
- Navigate/open to Automation Center and create a new Accounting Event Manager event.
- In the Event tab, select Profile Group and then click Add to add a profile.
- Click on the grid and then click Refresh (to ensure the newly added profile will appear in the grid), then click Find and look for the Profile name you created. Select profile
- Click Next and choose a default Result Profile
- Click Save.
- Continue defining an Accounting Event Manager event, you don’t need to select an entity or define disposition and distribution for the archive rule to work, continue to click on Next button in the Accounting Event Manager wizard until you see an option to Save & Schedule.
- Click on Save & Schedule and set it up to run continuously every 5 minutes.
Test the Processing Rule
You can test the newly created processing rule in one of two ways.
To test the processing rule:
- To test the Processing Rule to see how many records will be archived, navigate to the Processing Rule screen, edit your processing rule and click on Test.
Or you can submit an event and check its report.
