The system assigns each record in the GL Detail Posting table a unique instance number, permitting flexibility as to the level of detail it can store. The STAR to PACE data transfer can store ending balances on a daily and month-end basis by:

- General ledger chart of accounts subaccount number
- Currency
- Security
- Long/short indicator
