The Expense Rollforward report displays the date expense balances, accruals, reclasses, payments, settlements, and adjustments to support daily accounting. The report shows the difference between the derived ending balances and the ending date ledger balances.

Advanced report views available for this report include:

  • Summary. This view displays the beginning date and ending balance by share class
  • Detail. This view displays the beginning date ledger balance, ending date ledger balance, and differences in derived and ending date ledger balances.

To create the Expense Rollforward report:

  1. In Accounting Center, in the left navigation pane, click Reports Investment Accounting Reports > Rollforward > Expense Rollforward Report. 
    You see the Expense Rollforward Report panel.
  2. Complete the options on the Expense Rollforward Report panel.
  3. Under Result Options, click Grid or Advanced Report for the report view you want.
  4. Click Submit.
    The report appears on your desktop for the view selected.

Expense Rollforward Report Panel Options

You can use the Expense Rollforward Report panel to generate the Expense Rollforward report. A definition of the options on the Expense Rollforward Report panel follows.

OptionDescription
Search Criteria
Entity IDSpecifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by the entity ID of the entity.
Entity NameSpecifies a portfolio, sector portfolio, composite portfolio, or Master Fund by name of the entity.
Base CurrencySpecifies the base currency for your report results.
Accounting BasisSpecifies the entity accounting basis. For example, USTAX, GAAP, or IFRS.
Report TypeSpecifies the type of report date used for report results. Options include:
  • Accounting Date (Default)
  • Month End Accounting Date
Report PeriodSpecifies the type of date or date range for controlling your report results. Options include:
  • Daily Activity (Default)
  • Date Range
  • Fiscal Year to Date
  • Life to Date
  • Calendar Year to Date
  • Inception to Date
  • Month to Date
Beginning Balance DateSpecifies the beginning balance date for your report results. The default is first day of the current month. To use this option, you must select Date Range as your report period.
Report DateSpecifies the ending date for your report results. The default is today's date.
Selection Criteria
Report FiltersAllows you to show/hide additional security and other filters. The default is No.
Advanced Report OptionsAllows you to show/hide advanced report detail tab selection and format options. The default is No.
Filter Security ByAllows you to show/hide additional report filters. Options include:
  • Security Cross Reference (Default). If you select this option the panel unhides the Xref Type and Xref Security ID fields for data entry.
  • Issue Name. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Issue Name field for data entry.
  • Primary Asset ID. If you select this option, the panel unhides the Primary Asset ID field for data entry.
Other FiltersAllows you to filter by Asset Currency, Investment Type, Security Type, and Processing Security Type.
Detail Tab SelectionAllows you to select additional views for your report results. Options include:
  • Summary (Default is Yes)
  • Detail (Default is No)
  • No labels
