Set Up Eagle Enrichment

Eagle Enrichment settings are available on the Settings dialog box. We recommend that you determine these settings in advance, and not change them once you are in production. If you decide to change these settings after you are in production, carefully consider the impact of these changes.

To set up Eagle Enrichment settings:

  1. In Portfolio Data Center, in the left navigation pane, click Portfolio Desk > Enrichment.
You see the Eagle Enrichment workspace.

  2. Click Settings.
You see the Settings dialog box.

Eagle Enrichment - Settings dialog box
  3. Complete the settings as described in the following table.

  4. Click OK.

Funds Per Child Engine

Default value is 200. This value tunes the system for optimal volume processing. This number represents the number of distinct entities that are processed by a single engine thread. For example, if you run Enrichment rules for 200 funds, one child engine runs for each data type selected, either holdings or cash activity. If you run it for 201 funds, 2 engines run.

For additional information on engine tuning, contact the Global Professional Services group.

Enrichment Source Rule

The source rule defines the sources and hierarchies that are used to pull data for processing. Categories that require a source include: Analytics, Cash Activity, Composite Price, Foreign Exchange, and Positions. Typically there should be no sources selected for Securities because security data has already been composited. If you add calculations that reference other data types, you may need to update the source rule or use a different one. Refer to Manage Source Rules for instructions on how to create and edit source rules.

Ensure you select a source rule that references the appropriate sources for your business. A basic configuration would use STARDIRECT for Cash Activity and Positions and EAGLE PACE for Analytics, Composite Price, and Foreign Exchange.

Enable Scrub Tables

Not selected by default. When you select this option, it instructs the engine to clone several holdings scrub tables in addition to the core position details. It also makes these tables available as targets for detail calculations. Best practice is to not select this unless you require a clone of the additional tables.

Holdings Enrichment - Clone Enriched Funds Only

Not selected by default. When you select this option, it instructs the engine to only clone the funds with securities that meet at least one of the rules security criteria. When this option is not selected, all funds included in an Enrichment rule have their positions cloned, regardless of whether or not they own a security that meets the rule criteria.

Paging - Items Per Page

Default value is 50. This value determines how many items appear per page.

Roll Forward Look Back Period

Default value is 0. Requires configuration by selecting a date rule. The look back date is the limit to how far back the roll forward process looks for most recent positions. Records with an effective date older than the look back date are not considered.
