In the Add Cash Flow screen, you can manually add a cash flow detail record. 

Note: Only a cash flow set with a release status of pending approval or not released can have a cash flow record added.

To add a third party cash flow detail record:

  1. From the Reference Desk workspace, click Third Party Cash Flow in the left navigation.
    You see the Third Party Cash Flow workspace.
  2. Click the View Data By drop-down and then select Cash Flows and their Exceptions.
  3. Complete the required search criteria and click the Search button.

  4. Click on a row in the Cash Flow Details section of the tab to activate it and then select Add Cash Flow from the right-click menu.
    You see the Add Cash Flow Value screen.
  5. Complete the options on the Add Cash Flow Value screen.
  6. Click Add.
    The record is saved to the database.

Add Cash Flow Value Options

The following are the options in the Add Cash Flow Details panel.

Note, options may vary according to your selections.

Original Balance

Specifies the current face at the time of issuance. This value is used strictly for reporting.

For TRAINS with a processing security type of DBIBTR, this value is optional, and is always equal to 100.
Current Balance

Identifies the "current" current face balance. This field is used for reporting. When you enter multiple rows in the pane at the bottom of the panel, the Current Balance displays the remaining balance from the previous flow row.

For TRAINS, this value is equal to the Current Face divided by the Original Face, and is stored as a percentage. For example, a value of 74 represents 74%.
Effective Cash Flow CouponSpecifies the current pass thru rate that was used to calculate the interest cash flow. This field is used for reporting.
Cash Flow Type

Specifies the prepayment model used to create the cash flow. This value is provided by the third party/vendor. The Cash Flow Type is used as part of the key to determine which third party cash flow record the accounting basis's amortization rule should utilize when calculating an Amortization or Trade Yield. Options include:

  • ABS. Absolute Prepayment Speed.
  • CPR. Constant Prepayment Rate.
  •  FINCAD. FinCad Generated Cash Flows.
  •  FMED. FFIEC Median.
  •  MHP. Manufactured Housing Prepayment Curve.
  • PSA. Public Securities Association Convention.
  • TRAIN. Trains. If you add the cash flow for a TRAIN with a PST of DBIBTR, the system sets this value to TRAIN.
Speed Type

Specifies the speed type used to calculate the principal and interest cash flows. Options include:

  • 1 Month- 1 Month
  •  2 Month - 12 Month
  •  3 Month - 3 Month
  •  6 Month - 6 Month
  •  ABS – ABS.
  •  BMA Med +300 - BMA Med +300
  • BMA Med -300 - BMA Med -300
  • BMA Median - BMA Median
  • FFIEC Median - FFIEC Median
  • FMED +100 - FMED +100
  • FMED +200 - FMED +200
  • FMED +300 - FMED +300
  • FMED -100 - FMED -100
  • FMED -200 - FMED -200
  • FMED -300 - FMED -300
NONE – None. If you add the cash flow for a TRAINS with a PST of DBIBTR, the system sets this value to NONE
Requested Speed ValueSpecifies the prepayment speed used to calculate the future cash flow. This field is used for reporting.
Payment DateThe date on which the security is expected to repay all outstanding principal and stop earning interest.
Principal FlowSpecifies the principal cash flow in the asset currency for each flow date. This data is used in the calculation of amortizations, trade yield retrospective amortization, and cash flow projections. For TRAINS, this field is stored as a percentage. For example, a value of .15 represents 15%.
Interest FlowSpecifies the interest cash flow for each flow date in the asset currency of the security. This data is used in the calculation of amortizations, trade yield retrospective amortization, and cash flow projections. For TRAINS, this field is stored as a percentage. For example, a value of .15 represents 15%.
Remaining BalanceSpecifies the calculated remaining balance after the calculated principal cash flow. The value in the Remaining Balance field is calculated as the previous beginning balance minus the calculated principal balance minus the calculated write down/write up value. The last cash flow entry must have a Remaining Balance that is equal to 0.00. This field is used for reporting.
Total Principal and InterestDisplays the total principal and interest cash flow for the cash flows date. The Total and Principal field is used for reporting purposes.
Write Down / Write UpSpecifies the write down or write up in the asset currency for each flow date. This field is used in reporting. A negative value represent a write up.
Row IDSpecifies the identification number of the row.
Original Flow DateSpecifies the effective date of the cash flow.
