Create and Configure CSV Files

In the Metadata Manager, the CSV Editor allows you to create and edit CSV files in the specified format. The format of the CSV files depends on the metadata that is being loaded via each file.

The CSV Configuration wizard allows you to configure CSV files for loading into the Metadata Manager's database. The CSV file you configured is picked up by the next Collector Engine run.

You can create a CSV file to add, modify, or delete items for a specific type so when the Collector Engine runs, it will only pick up the items currently present in the CSV file.

About the Eagle Version

For all CSV file formats, the CSV Editor window displays the Eagle Version column that is optional. If you enter a value in the Eagle Version column, the CSV file will be used only if the Eagle version in the current environment is equal to, or greater than, the version you entered. If you want to use the CSV file for any Eagle version, do not enter values in the Eagle Version column.

If the CSV file contains duplicate records based on a unique key, but has a different value in the Eagle Version column, only one record will be selected – the record that does not have an Eagle version, or the record with the highest Eagle version.

The Eagle version value is also used in the CSV Configuration wizard where mandatory minimum and maximum versions are set for the Collector Engine bots. These bots will run only for the minimum through maximum version of the Eagle software. You can also view the bot version in the bot section of the Types window.
